Counterclaims

KDRGibby makes several arguments in the course of his discussion on talk pages that I wish to counter. Firstly, he asserts that copy and paste reinsertions are not reverts, which reflects a misunderstanding of the 3RR rule.

Secondly, he justifies the use of ad hominem saying they are not personal attacks because they do not use insults such as "moron", etc. However, continually making disparaging remarks on what he asserts to be an editor's misconception, stating that "you have no understanding at all about sth topic"...such statements are perhaps acceptable from teacher to student, or when the statement at hand is generally out of the mainstream, however, not when it when its truth or applicability is disputed. KDRGibby constantly downplays other editors' debating ability in order to try to assert his victory in discussion and debate. This becomes a form of ad hominem, and therefore, a personal attack.

KDRGibby makes claims of "bullying", alleging basically that Wikipedia has a cabal of editors who conspire together to try to suppress information. Besides the standard There is no cabal response, or any other response to a conspiracy theory, I feel the urge to point out that posting about a revert war on IRC and asking for thoughts or assistance is an acceptable practice and is not a case of majoritarianism on Wikipedia, like he claims. Recuse

I'd like to note I am recusing from editing this page as a clerk, as I have provided evidence. If need be, I can also withdraw my evidence claims.-- Tznkai 23:10, 28 January 2006 (UTC) reply
