Took me some time but I am here now too! Kasob ( talk) 14:50, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi to you all. This note is just to make you all aware that on Wednesday, Wikipedia will be blacked out for at least a portion of the day in protest of the SOPA and PIPA bills in the United States. The location (global or US only) and the duration (no more than 24 hours) haven't been concretely decided on yet as far as I know, so it may not affect you at all. But if you're busy on Thursday and Friday morning and have any pages to read/articles to choose/edits to make before your class, you may want to get to them before Wednesday if you can! Here's an article from Reuters Canada on the matter; and the Wikipedia community's discussion is here if you're curious about why the blackout is happening. Cheers, Melicans ( talk, contributions) 01:13, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Hey. I seem to be able to communicate with other students, but I'm having trouble using the online ambassador's talk page. Any suggestions? Dirkster07 ( talk) 15:34, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi John! It seems we have the same idea at the same time -- we keep thinking alike! This is the link to my class Wikipedia:United_States_Education_Program/Courses/Personality_(William_Fleeson). I hope you are doing well, and that you are enjoying the wikipedia assignment! William Fleeson ( talk) 18:51, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
It appears that two of our students wrote about the same topic -- facets. Your student created the page a couple days before my student did. This page has some of the discussion about what to do (scroll down to "editing"). Basically, the standard procedure is merging of the pages. What would you like to do? I think our two students have already started talking to each other as well. William Fleeson ( talk) 01:12, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
Relatedly, does your course page list the final topics of your students? We may as well identify any other overlap at this point. William Fleeson ( talk) 01:12, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
This article is the subject of an educational assignment at Carleton University supported by the Wikipedia Ambassador Program during the 2012 Q1 term. Further details are available on the course page.
