Bugs, Repairs, and Internal Operational News

This is a summary of recent technology and site configuration changes that affect the English Wikipedia. Note that not all changes described here are necessarily live as of press time; the English Wikipedia is currently running version 1.43.0-wmf.2 (ce9d259), and changes to the software with a version number higher than that will not yet be active. Configuration changes and changes to interface messages, however, become active immediately.

Fixed bugs

  • Editing a section no longer strips leading whitespace from the start introduction section. ( r33314, bug 13728)
  • Some features of the redirect system were accidentally broken, and then fixed again:
    • Redirects to sections were broken. ( r33375, bug 13752)
    • The history of pages which are redirects, but once were non-redirect pages, was broken. ( r33381, bug 13754)
    • Database errors could appear when two users viewed the same old redirect at approximately the same time. ( r33133, bug 13745)
  • "Add pages I create to my watchlist" now also watches uploaded images. ( r33387, bug 13725)
  • Transclusions of Special:Newpages no longer incorrectly show a drop-down box. ( r33389, bug 13756)
  • Special:Whatlinkshere now pages properly when filtered to show only a certain type of backlink. ( r33607, bug 12793)
  • The api's list=search no longer incorrectly returns deleted pages. ( r33608, bug 13792)
