This page lists article in serious need of improvement. It also helps coordinate collaborative efforts through the project. Most of articles in serious need of improvement are quite important, and have serious issues, like being stubs, spammish, POV, or just plain poorly written. At the Help Requested section, users can coordinate efforts to expand certain articles. If you are in the process of preparing an article for a good article or featured article nomination, please tell us about it — especially if you want assistance.
If you have finished improving an article in the "dire need" section, feel free to strike it out and leave comments. For the "Help Requested", try to follow a format like outlined by User:Krm500 of WikiProject Ice Hockey here. It helps everybody involved. Also remember to post a link to the discussion here from the article's talk page.

J. Sargeant Reynolds had a bunch of stuff added, infortunatety with no references and not wiki-linked. Soem of what was totally replaced was wikilinked. I think from my personal knowledge the new expanded content is factual. I am in the midst of other work. Anyone help? 03:10, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- I contacted the editor who added all the new info, and he has provided some sourcing. It still needs clean up, but at least we know where the info is coming from now.--

- I came across it a month or so ago and put it into the normalish shape of legislator articles, adding an infobox, wikilinks and a few cites. However, I didn't read any of the books/promo movies previously listed in the bio, nor do I have the time to, so I didn't feel comfortable taking it off this list, but IMHO it's not as horrible as before. Hello everyone, I'm a representative of Smithfield Foods and would like to request an update this article. The areas on governance and some of the financial numbers are very out of date. Our most recent SEC filing has verified and updated information regarding our financial figures and governance. If you anyone wants me to call out specifics I would be more than happy to or I understand if you would like to pull the information out yourself. I am respectful of Wikipedia's guidelines concerning conflict of interest and have made no edits myself but wanted to encourage others to make this article accurate. Virginia Department of Transportation
I have had a question pending on the Virginia Department of Transportation article's Talk since July, 2015 regarding the most recent budget and employee information quoted in the article which dates from 2010, and I have been trying to find out if there is any more recent budget and employee information publicly-available so the article can be updated accordingly, but I have thus far received no replies to my question on the article's Talk page, Any assistance from my fellow Wikipedians in resolving this question would be most appreciated.-- TommyBoy ( talk) 23:32, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Gray Commission, Perrow Commission
I put these articles up yesterday, with help from the wikipedia teahouse. Two editors there also suggested involvement in this project. So here I am. I realize they have LOTS of red links for Virginia politicians, and frankly most of the blue links are from articles I've put up in the last month or 2. I noticed that adding articles about Virginia politicians might already be an identified priority of this group, but I have limited time. Plus, these suggested articles do require library trips, IMHO, because some might have obituaries in the ProQuest database that libraries subscribe to, and others might require trips to local libraries. I'm up in Arlington but occasionally travel to Richmond to visit LVA or the VA Historical Society (which has begun requiring memberships to access its resources as of Aug.15). Hence, the blue articles are from NoVa and Richmond, but there are LOTS more.
I realize that Massive Resistance is a sensitive topic, and might seem like opening wounds that I have no right (growing up in the Chicago suburbs) to address, but IMHO it's important and probably now addressed in public school curriculums. Earlier this week I improved the article about Judge Robert L. Carter (a New Yorker who argued some of the desegregation cases before the U.S. Supreme Court) has a Federal Judicial Center teaching aid (concerning desegregation in Louisiana, libraries of which I know have a sister project with the LVA), which I also linked, for any educators who might consider this area as a class project. The Samuel W. Tucker article was up for GA 5 years ago, but noone did the changes. I came across it while doing changes that turned out to be most of the requested ones. I don't have time to do more, but notified the editor who worked on it 5 years ago and might know about the nomination process or want to start it again. FYI, the Alexandria library says this upcoming weekend is the anniversary of the sit-in that began his career as a civil rights lawyer. Jweaver28 ( talk) 11:37, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
