Welcome to the eleventh edition of the Bugle for 2018!

We've recently commemorated the centenary of the end of World War I, and TomStar81 has brought us two articles to mark this anniversary. In his op-ed Tom discusses the way in which Germany conceded defeat. What will presumably be the final edition of Tom's World War I timeline summarises the events in the final days of the war and its aftermath. Of course, the legacy of World War I remains with us today, providing a reminder that the damage caused by wars never fully heals.

As always, this edition includes a round-up of recently promoted featured and A-class articles, and our book reviews section, in which Peacemaker67 looks at a book on the fighting which took place as part of the British conquest of the Sydney region. With Christmas coming up, the book reviews section also includes many links to recent reviews published elsewhere.

This month, an additional task force, the Indian military history task force, was created to organize articles related to Indian military history. The task force was established as a result of participation by users in the WikiProject Military History Incubator, and is the first group to graduate from the incubator.

Finally, we're pleased to note that Gog the Mild has been awarded their first A-Class Medal, the first of many we're sure.

Your editors, Ian Rose ( talk) and Nick-D ( talk)

Tks very much for your book review PM -- and of course to Tom for the most recent installments of an amazing series of op-eds and timelines commemorating the centenary of WWI. Cheers, Ian Rose ( talk) 03:43, 15 November 2018 (UTC) reply
