Welcome to the fifth Bugle edition for 2019!
This edition includes an interesting op-ed from TomStar81 covering the scuttling of the German fleet at Scapa Flow on 21 June 1919. This is a follow-on from the huge series of op-eds Tom kindly contributed to mark the centenary of World War I.
April was a busy month for new featured and A-class articles, and the article news section provides a summary of the six new FAs and ten new As. It's interesting that there have been very few featured topics and lists over recent months, possibly as the editors active on these types of content are currently focusing on particularly huge topics. FTs and FLs don't need to be large though - just very high quality!
We're also pleased to bring you another large review section, with Hawkeye7 looking at two recent works on Australian military history and Peacemaker67 assessing a recent book on Israeli military history.
This month, Parsecboy became only the second editor to be awarded an A-Class Cross, following Hawkeye7, who received the first one last year. Well done on achieving this major milestone, which represents a whopping 107 A-Class articles over a ten-year period! Also, Sturmvogel 66 recently passed the amazing milestone of 750 GA reviews -- what an effort!

- Sturmvogel 66 for French battleship Bretagne, French battleship Jean Bart (1911), and French battleship Jauréguiberry.
- The
A-Class medal has been awarded to:
- Indy beetle for Battle of Entebbe, Battle of Masaka, and Battle of Lukaya.
- Gog the Mild for Lancaster's chevauchée of 1346, Battle of Bergerac, and Battle of Caen (1346).

The contest department completed its 141st round of competition in April. A total of 44 articles were submitted by eight editors. Sturmvogel 66 took out the competition with 110 points from 18 articles, while Parsecboy came second with 86 points from nine articles. Sturmvogel 66 has been awarded the Chevrons for his achievement, and Parsecboy has received the Writer's Barnstar. AustralianRupert, Gog the Mild, Djmaschek, Zawed, Peacemaker67 and Chetsford also contributed entries. Points will go towards the 2019 Military History Writers' Contest Cup, which will be decided at the end of the December contest. Please submit any articles you are working on for the next round of the competition now.
