Welcome to the August 2015 edition of the Bugle!
After last month's drought of new A-class articles, we have a flood of them in this month's edition. The number of new featured articles is on the low side, but you can't have everything!
Continuing our occasional series of interviews, this month's newsletter features a discussion with four editors who regularly work on military history-related featured pictures. They discussed their experiences with the FP process, and provided advice for editors who are interested in joining this area. The article also includes some snazzy FPs from the four participants.
We're also happy to bring you our other regular features. TomStar81 has once again provided an op-ed on an aspect of World War I, namely the Indian nationalist movement during the war. Tom has also continued his excellent World War I timeline, which is focused this month on battles fought during the Gallipoli Campaign and on the war's Eastern Front. The review section includes an assessment by Nick of an usual history of the Second Schleswig War, as well as the usual round up of recent reviews of military history-related books from other websites.
In other news, voting for the XV Coordinator Tranche will open in September. We will be looking to elect 11 coordinators in total for the XV tranche, which will take office on 29 September. All project members are encouraged to participate either by voting for coordinators or by running for one of the 11 open positions in the upcoming XV. The project has two academy essays that may be of use to you: becoming a coordinator and advice from former coordinators. If you are still unclear about the position or the responsibilities, feel free to ask questions of the current coordinators, who will be happy to answer to the best of their ability.
Finally, both Ian and Nick will be taking a break from the Bugle over the next two months to travel around different parts of the world. While one of the intentions of having two editors was to make such simultaneous absences unlikely, it obviously hasn't worked out in this instance! We will leave you in the very capable hands of the project coordinators, who will produce the September and October editions. As always, input from other editors is very welcome, and can be posted directly via the newsroom.

- The contest department completed its 97th round of competition last month. A total of 46 articles were submitted by 8 editors. Ian Rose came first with 79 points from 8 entries to receive the Chevrons, followed by Parsecboy, who earned the Writer's Barnstar with 63 points from 11 entries. Honourable mentions go to FunkyCanute (debuting in the contest with 59 points), Tomandjerry211 (38 points), Lineagegeek (34 points), and Peacemaker67 (30 points). Catlemur and Djmaschek also fielded entries. Please submit any articles you are working on for this month's contest now.
