SMasters has been appointed Coordinator Emeritus with 18 support votes and 0 oppose votes.
Overview
The project coordinators will be generally responsible for maintaining the procedural and administrative aspects of the project. They will be the designated points-of-contact for procedural issues and will be responsible for ensuring that the project as a whole is properly informed of them.
To provide some examples of coordinator duties: the coordinators will manage the proposal and creation of new task forces; ensure that project announcement and task lists are kept up-to-date; initiate drafting of guidelines needed by the project; organize the category system; oversee the recruitment of new members, including the use of project notices and other advertising methods; create and maintain collaborative projects if any; maintain the project page and the various guidelines in it in a clean and easy-to-use state; monitor technical policies and ensure that project templates satisfy them, and assist in organizing and promoting any Backlog Elimination Drives.
They are also expected to generally assist project members with any questions or concerns.
The coordinator positions will not entail any executive power.
Positions
Lead Coordinator (one open position): will have overall responsibility for procedural and administrative matters within the project.
Assistant Coordinator (three open positions): will assist the Lead Coordinator by focusing on specific areas within the project that require special attention. These areas will be selected based on need and interest among the coordinators.
Election process
The election process will run for two weeks, from June 16, 00:01 UTC, until June 30, 23:59 UTC.
Project members may nominate themselves for either position by creating a new section under "Nominations," below, and copying the sample form below. Nominees interested in only one position should indicate this when adding their names. Candidates need not make extensive statements if they do not wish to do so.
The elections will be conducted using simple
approval voting. Any member of the project may support a nominee for either position. If the nominee is running for both positions and you wish to support them for only one, please make a note to that effect as part of your vote.
Both project members and interested outside parties are encouraged to ask questions of the nominees or make general comments.
Hi, I am Diannaa, and I have been editing Wikipedia since October 2009. I have copy edited thousands of articles from the backlog, and have helped organise the backlog elimination drives. Activities related to the drives include maintenance of the drive pages, daily updates of the figures, closing off the drives, sending out barnstars, and preparing newsletters. I have done copy edits of many articles from our requests page, designed and implemented our archive for that page, and look after daily maintenance of the requests page and its archive. I am also a Wikipedia administrator and participate in the Wikification drives. Over the next year I would like us to recruit more active participants and continue to improve the quality of our work.
Diannaa has been with the Guild since before our first Backlog elimination drive. She is one of the many people who has helped make the drives as successful as they are, and there's no doubt in my mind that she will make them even more successful in the future. She has not only helped make the drives successful, but the entire WikiProject, as well.

Comments and questions
I'm not eligible to vote, but I decided to stop by anyways and deliver my support for Diannaa. As an outsider, who knows little to nothing of the GOCE or its backlogs, the name I associate most closely with the GOCE is Diannaa's. She shows a passion for the work and always appears willing to lend aid to people that need it. Not sure what this post counts for in the greater scheme of things, but I felt it worth saying.

Hi all, I'm Chaosdruid and have been a co-opted coordinator for the last three months, during which I have tried to help new GOCE members and those new to copyediting. I have been active doing copyedits from the requests list, as well as helping maintain the archive, and assisting new copyeditors with resources and examples to aid their learning curve. I have been involved with copyediting for over two years and have been involved in all the drives apart from one. I would hope that in this next year I will be able to gain experience of the GAN and FAN (Good article and Featured article) processes to bring that experience to our members. I would also like to become involved with the GOCE projects and help them along. I have tried to expand my experience by assisting in the copyediting of GA and FA nominations as well as helping with drive checks, and giving out awards, and hope that I can continue in these roles.
Chaosdruid did an excellent job last term, and will no doubt do just as well, if not better, this next term.

Hello, I am The Utahraptor. I have been with the Guild since April 2010, when I signed up and almost immediately began copy editing articles. When I was invited to participate in the Guild's first Backlog elimination drive, in May of 2010, I signed up and copy edited eight articles. I have been participating in the drives ever since, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I was elected as a coordinator in the Guild's previous election, but due to real life circumstances, I had to back out. I am currently suffering from depression, and from the time I resigned until about three weeks ago, my depression was affecting my ability to complete everyday tasks, including coordinating the Guild. However, for the past three weeks, since I got off of anti-depressants, my condition has improved, and now I have more time on my hands. I cannot say for sure just how much time I'll have to coordinate the Guild, but I will most certainly dedicate at least an hour per day to the Guild if re-elected. If you have any questions for me about my resignation or anything else, please leave them below.

I go by Dan or Dank, and I've been known mostly as a copy editor for the 3.5 years I've been active on Wikipedia. I've been a coordinator for the
military history wikiproject for more than a year, and copyedited most of the articles submitted for peer review, A-class review and featured article candidacy over that time. I prefer copyediting articles that have some connection to history. My copyediting work hasn't so far left me a lot of time to participate in copyediting drives and other GOCE activities, but I'd like to take on a more collaborative role. I've been an admin for 2.5 years, and done the quarterly (previously monthly)
updates to Wikipedia policy pages for a little longer than that.

Referendum on new role for S Masters
