This page is dedicated to a few goals:

  • 1) To come up with ideas as to how to keep editors who are at risk of leaving the project, or to try to persuade those who have left the project to return, and
  • 2) To provide a location where information about existing editors who are talking about leaving the project can be placed. In some cases, their reasons will be very valid ones, and in those cases we would not and should not try to keep them from doing so. But there are several cases where that will not be the case. In those instances, we can try to assess the situation which is making them think of leaving, and, if possible, find some way to deal with it productively in a way which retains the editors.
  • 3) Any other initiatives that the members think of that they believe would assist in retaining existing members and in bringing former contributors back. John Carter ( talk) 23:03, 11 July 2012 (UTC) reply

Emergency calls

Please list here any editors who have made recent statements regarding possibly leaving the project, if possible with a link to exactly where they have expressed the intention to leave. one of those watching this page will try to contact that editor as soon as possible to identify the situation and, if possible, help resolve it in a way that is in the best interests of all those involved.

    • This editor is a friendly, helpful, multilingual Ph.D. who has made many edits on WP. She has decided to leave after coming under attack just in the last few weeks. Is there anything you can do to persuade her to return? CorinneSD ( talk) 22:52, 11 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Policy and guideline proposals

Can anyone think of any changes to existing policies or guidelines which they believe would help keep existing editors and maybe bring back a few inactive editors. If yes, please feel free to discuss them here.
