May 2016 was a big month for
Exoplanetology, starting on May 2nd 2016 with the discovery of the
TRAPPIST-1 system (Pictured) featuring
TRAPPIST-1b,
1c and
1d which lead to these new articles being created, as well as
Ultra-cool dwarf which was translated from French Wikipedia. On May 10th, 2016 NASA announced 1,284 new exoplanets which lead to the creation of articles for
Kepler-1229b and
Kepler-1638b, both of which are located in their system's
circumstellar habitable zone.
In June 2016, NASA announced the discovery of the
exoplanetKepler-1647b orbiting around in a
circumbinary orbit around an F-type star; the typing of the other star in the system is unknown.
V830 Tau b was also discovered in June 2016 orbing around a very young
T Tauri star with an incredibly young age of approximately 2 million years.
