The top story this week was the death of former President of the United States George H. W. Bush. Second place is the release of new Indian film 2.0, and third is the death of SpongeBob SquarePants creator, Stephen Hillenburg. Further down the list, a number of the subjects of Netflix's Narcos: Mexico are in the list, as are the lead pugilists of Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury and a motley crew of musicians, TV personalities, and Baroque painters.

During his time in the White House, Bush signed the North American Free Trade Agreement, and involved the US in the First Gulf War.
2	2.0 (film)		1,634,758		With a budget of ₹543 crore (US$76 million), Tamil sci-fi film 2.0, released on 29 November, is the most expensive Indian film of all time. A sequel to 2010's Enthiran, the film sees Rajinikanth (pictured) reprise the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film, which has received positive reviews earned ₹117.34 crore (US$16 million) worldwide on its first day, the second highest ever for an Indian film after old Top 25 favourite Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
3	Stephen Hillenburg		1,324,217		Stephen Hillenburg, creator of the long running Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, died on November 26 at the age of 57. Hillenburg served as showrunner of the aquatic animation from debut in 1999 to The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in 2004, as well as doing the story for the 2015 The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. He revealed in March 2017 that he had been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), and died from complications from that disease this week.
4	Freddie Mercury		1,201,579		The legendary Queen (#19) front man remains in the list with the continued popularity of the biopic based on him, Bohemian Rhapsody.
5	Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo		1,059,989		Mexican drug lord Félix Gallardo, who formed the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s, is a primary subject of the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico (#25); in which he is played by Diego Luna (pictured). Félix Gallardo, also known as El Padrino (The Godfather), with his cartel, at one point controlled almost all drug trafficking in Mexico and the corridors along the Mexico–United States border.
6	6ix9ine		991,765		Daniel Hernandez, or "six-ix nine-ine", as I presume his stage name is supposed to be pronounced, released his debut album, Dummy Boy on November 27. Professional reviews for the album have leaned towards the negative. The album had been delayed from the original release date of November 23 following Hernandez's November 18 arrest on charges including conspiracy to murder and armed robbery, charges for which he is currently being held in custody without bail pending trial.

8	George W. Bush		718,028		George H.W. Bush's (#1) eldest son, GWB was President of the United States himself from 2001 to 2009.
9	Sentinelese		616,432		The indigenous Sentinelese people, who inhabit the North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal in India, are considered to be one of the world's last uncontacted people. They are known to be extremely hostile to outsiders, as demonstrated with the death of American missionary John Allen Chau on 17 November, killed by the islanders while attempting to convert them to Christianity. Indian officials abandoned attempts to recover the body on 28 November, due to a risk of conflict between investigators and islanders.

11	Tyson Fury		547,211		Boxer Tyson Fury – he had to be a boxer, didn't he? You can't go into interpretive dance with a name like Tyson Fury – challenged American champion Deontay Wilder (#20) for the World Boxing Council heavyweight title. The first championship fight for Fury since 2015, the undefeated "Gypsy King" was under a doping ban between Decembers 2015 and 2017. The big fight, held on December 1 at Staples Center, was awarded a draw, a controversial decision, as most commentators had Fury down to win. I am sure a rematch is inevitable, to make even more money for all involved.
12	Rafael Caro Quintero		516,529		Another Narcos: Mexico (#25) related entry, Caro Quintero was a leader of the Guadalajara Cartel alongside Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (#5). Caro Quintero is currently a wanted fugitive in Mexico and the United States after being released from prison on a technicality, and the US is offering a $20 million bounty for his arrest. He is portrayed in the series by Tenoch Huerta Mejía.
13	Bartolomé Esteban Murillo		505,309		Spanish Baroque painter Murillo (self-portrait pictured), best known for his religious works and paintings of contemporary women and children, was the subject of a Google Doodle on November 29, in places including India, the United Kingdom, and Australia, to mark the opening of a series of major exhibitions of his work at the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville.
14	Kiki Camarena		498,540		Another Narcos: Mexico (#25) entry, US Drug Enforcement Administration undercover agent Camarena is played by Michael Peña in the series, which primarily focuses on his investigations into the Guadalajara Cartel.
15	Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald		497,096		This is the tenth film in the Wizarding World (or " Harry Potter" as most people call it) franchise since 2001, which sounds impressive until you look at the rate the Marvel Cinematic Universe pumps 'em out. The Crimes of Grindelwald features Johnny Depp as evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald (pictured), with Jude Law as nice wizard Albus Dumbledore and Eddie Redmayne returning as textbook writer Eddie Redmayne. The film, which has thus far made $519 million worldwide (₹3621 crore) is not the best received of all the Wizarding films, but I thought it was, you know, alright. A sequel is inevitable.
16	Priyanka Chopra		489,757		Actress Chopra, winner of the Indian National Film Award for Best Actress for 2008's Fashion and a multiple winner at the American People's Choice Awards for series Quantico, married Nick Jonas, one of pop's Jonas Brothers, on December 1.
17	Noel Edmonds		486,468		Eccentric, Deal-making TV presenter, and Mr Blobby progenitor, Edmonds was a late entry into the I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! jungle this year. And, thanks to a surprising result in the series's first elimination vote, an early exit.
18	Ambareesh		481,373		One of Kannada cinema's most celebrated actors, Indian actor and politician Ambareesh died on 24 November at the age of 66. Appearing in over 200 films, Ambareesh was also a member of India's Lok Sabha from 1998 to 2009, serving as Minister for Information and Broadcasting from October 2006 and February 2007.
19	Queen (band)		434,912		Freddie Mercury's (#4) band continues to attract interest in the wake of the Mercury (and band) biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
20	Deontay Wilder		427,672		Deontay Wilder remains holder of the WBC heavyweight championship title following the controversial draw with Tyson Fury (#11) at Staples Center on December 1. Wilder is estimated to have made $14 million from the fight, so I'm sure would not be too reluctant for a rematch if one was offered.
21	The Ballad of Buster Scruggs		416,330		The new Netflix prestige film – written, directed and produced by the Coen brothers (pictured) – takes the form of an anthology of six western vignettes. The first film from the multi-award winning Coens to be released for the internet streaming giant, BOBS (as no one is calling it), won the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and has continued to receive critical praise since.
22	Jimmy Carter		411,350		Following the death of George H. W. Bush (#1), Carter is now the oldest living ex- President of the United States.
23	Donald Trump		404,410		Donald Trump remains both controversial and the President of the United States, and, as is so often the case, it's hard to tell what specifically propelled him into the list, although possibilities include the death of one of his predecessors as President, George H. W. Bush (#1) or Trump's attendance at the 2018 G20 Buenos Aires summit.
24	Creed II		404,062		The latest in the Rocky film series, starring Michael B. Jordan (pictured) as Adonis Creed and Sylvester Stallone as his trainer Rocky Balboa, Creed II sees Creed go up against Viktor Drago, son of the Russian boxer who killed Apollo Creed, Adonis's father, in a prior instalment. The film has received positive reviews, and good box office.
25	Narcos: Mexico		397,252		After three seasons in Colombia, Narcos now focuses on the Mexican cartels formed as a consequence of smuggling the South American cocaine to the United States.
