Cool It Now: Things may be a bit crazy in American politics these days, but the Top 25 reminds you that people around the world are also focused on more relaxing activities such as movies, television, and sports, or remembering those who have recently died, including actress Mary Tyler Moore (#2).

For the week of January 22 to 28, 2017, the 25 most popular articles on Wikipedia, as determined from the WP:5000 report were:

1	Donald Trump		2,893,734		At #1 for the second week in a row. His viewcounts are amazing! Top notch! Most viewed article ever!
2	Mary Tyler Moore		2,331,504		This American actress died on January 25. Moore's characters often broke from stereotypical images of women and pushed gender norms, and thus she became a cultural icon and served as an inspiration for many younger actresses, professional women, and feminists.
3	Melania Trump		1,588,064		During Trump's campaign, Melania wasn't as necessarily as popular as Donald in any given week, but was dependent on what she did herself. Most notably for this Report, that occurred in July 2016 where Melania's convention speech, which lifted some passages from Michelle Obama's 2008 nominating speech for her husband, put her article ahead of Donald's. Now that Melania is officially the First Lady of the United States, we'll have to see if the two articles have any more correlation in views.
4	John Hurt		1,212,592		This British actor died on January 25.
5	Split (2016 American film)		1,164,561		Another psychological horror film from M. Night Shyamalan (pictured), released in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada on January 20. On a $9 million budget, it has already grossed over $100 million. Up from #13 (906K views) last week.
6	Bessie Coleman		1,108,864		The first African-American aviatrix. On January 26, 2017, the 125th anniversary of her birth, a Google Doodle was posted in her honor.
7	New Edition		1,088,599		The best American boy band of all time returned to claim a rightful spot in the Top 10. OK, cool it now, Milo. It was actually the airing of a three part miniseries, The New Edition Story, that was responsible. But I am listening to Cool It Now, right now, as I start reading about the popular Indian film that follows this entry.
8	Raees (film)		1,088,599		The Indian action film starring Shah Rukh Khan (pictured) was released on January 25. I really have no idea what it is about but the trailer is exciting, the only thing it is missing is The Rock .
9	Ed Roberts (activist)		1,028,161		A pioneering leader of the disability rights movement, the subject of a Google Doodle this week.
10	Resident Evil 7: Biohazard		950,183		This videogame in the Resident Evil series was released on January 24. I'm still listening to New Edition (#7) by the way, the YouTube playlist is on Mr. Telephone Man now, this still really holds up.
11	Trans-Pacific Partnership		940,501		Trump killed the United States' involvement in this trade pact on January 23.
12	La La Land (film)		843,283		Up from #23 and 688K views last week, as movie awards season continues. This film, directed by Damien Chazelle (pictured), is doing well so far.
13	Tom Brady		804,798		This American football quarterback for the New England Patriots is leading his team into Super Bowl LI, which will be held on February 5.
14	Republic Day (India)		801,807		The annual holiday in India celebrating the Constitution of India. Guess how many views this got last year? 801,807 - identical to this year!
15	Ivanka Trump		796,189		President Trump's oldest daughter, down from 1.17 million views last week.
16	Sean Spicer		791,211		President Trump's White House Press Secretary got off to a bit of a rough start in trying to claim the attendance at President Trump's inauguration was the biggest of all time, but he returned to a more calm approach in his January 23 conference. Spicer is going to have a difficult job, because Trump has always been comfortable making outrageous claims. This may not be an issue on reality TV or in puffing up a real estate deal, but his style is new to U.S. politics.
17	Barack Obama		790,084		The 44th president only played golf anyway, some have told me, but he will have to take a break to help plan his Barack Obama Presidential Center.
18	Queen Victoria		788,337		Driven by the TV series Victoria.
19	Kellyanne Conway		773,980		A chief advisor to President Trump, responsible for our new article, alternative facts. A quick side note, it is certainly fine to criticize Trump's advisors for saying wacky things, but criticizing Conway for wearing a festive outfit to the inauguration is a petty slight that males rarely have to deal with ( puffy shirts aside).
20	Royal Rumble (2017)	N/A	764,372		Wikipedia readers love their wrestling, but none more so than the annual WWE Royal Rumble, which was held this year on January 29 (the day after this chart), and will probably be high up on the chart next week.
21	Deaths in 2017		743,659		As always.
22	Roger Federer		731,272		At the 2017 Australian Open, Federer won his eighteenth men's single Grand Slam title by defeating Rafael Nadal after a five-set final.
23	List of Super Bowl champions		713,804		This list invariably pops up at this time of year.
24	XXX: Return of Xander Cage		709,429		The continuation of a film series that started in 2002 once again features Vin Diesel in the lead role. Down from #10 and 940K views last week.
25	Serena Williams		680,319		Williams won the Women's Singles title at the 2017 Australian Open. And my New Edition playlist has fittingly reached Is This The End? For this week, yes.

• This list excludes the Wikipedia main page, non-article pages (such as redlinks), and anomalous entries (such as DDoS attacks or likely automated views). Since mobile view data became available to the Report in October 2014, we exclude articles that have almost no mobile views (5–6% or less) or almost all mobile views (94–95% or more) because they are very likely to be automated views based on our experience and research of the issue. • Franklin D. Roosevelt (1,034,867 views) has been excluded; it had a huge spike in desktop views on January 25, but no spike in mobile views. Though its overall mobile count for the week was 11.65%, that can be explained by the general daily popularity of the article.
