And the user himself has admitted that he has a connection with it in response to a question from the senior editor ( [26] [27] [28]). So it looks like this user must have been paid for this page.
- In Poli Hunt's case, I had added this user but due to lack of connection between the two and it being a Muslim name, I removed the name from SPI on August 12 [29]. On August 13, Poli changed the username [30] and on August 14, this user also changed the username [31]. It seems that this user has some connection with that user. The AfD discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Pankaj_Choudhary_(professor)_(2nd_nomination) would benefit more generally from a look from people with experience in sockpuppetry and WP:UPE. There are a large number of non-policy-based keep !votes from users with a small number of edits (a bit over where I would tag as an SPA) who have not previously shown any interest in AfD. - I came here while reviewing the articles for {{ WLMA 2024}}. I have met Sohom Datta at Wikimania Singapore and he is an established contributer to Wikimedia spaces, including the technical areas. It is very unlikely that he'd be part of this sockfarm. Just because someone makes a few edits to any article, which was created or contributed to by socks, is not a behavioral evidence of socking in my opinion. And the user himself has admitted that he has a connection with it in response to a question from the senior editor ( [26] [27] [28]). So it looks like this user must have been paid for this page.
- In Poli Hunt's case, I had added this user but due to lack of connection between the two and it being a Muslim name, I removed the name from SPI on August 12 [29]. On August 13, Poli changed the username [30] and on August 14, this user also changed the username [31]. It seems that this user has some connection with that user. The AfD discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Pankaj_Choudhary_(professor)_(2nd_nomination) would benefit more generally from a look from people with experience in sockpuppetry and WP:UPE. There are a large number of non-policy-based keep !votes from users with a small number of edits (a bit over where I would tag as an SPA) who have not previously shown any interest in AfD. - Onosco23 doesn't look like either Syed amjad08 or GermanKity (mentioned at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rath Butcher). It's pretty common for newbie pile-ons at AfDs to be friends and/or fans canvassed off-wiki, and that appears to be the case here. I'm certainly not going to check everybody who !voted to keep. Julie568 created a page Ekar which was deleted in 2017 previously and was drafted in March 2023 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Draft:Ekar&action=history). Then User:Intellectual I - recreates and publishes the same page with a slightly different name. Then User:Rath Butcher emotionally defends the page on AfD procedure. - I came here while reviewing the articles for {{ WLMA 2024}}. I have met Sohom Datta at Wikimania Singapore and he is an established contributer to Wikimedia spaces, including the technical areas. It is very unlikely that he'd be part of this sockfarm. Just because someone makes a few edits to any article, which was created or contributed to by socks, is not a behavioral evidence of socking in my opinion. UtherSRG, could you explain how four years of technical contributions on Phabricator and Wikimedia Gerrit (including over 70 patches to MediaWiki extensions, most of which are in relation to Wikisource) fits into your story of me being a sock of Syed amjad08, who as far as I know, has no history of contributing to technical areas).
