Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles

per Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/63.3.1.1 (2nd) and this ANI thread. Editors doubt he has vanished. Durova Charge! 01:42, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Added 209.247.22.86, for all the good it might do. Deor ( talk) 01:53, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Additional information needed What was LGRC renamed to? That account has no checkable contribs. Thatcher 02:14, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Initially to User:B988a4299d07c0f61fbc8378965438f0 and then to User:Renamed user 19. -- EEMIV ( talk) 02:18, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply
Added Elisabeth Rogan, for what good it'll do. Stifle ( talk) 09:13, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Inconclusive to  Possible. LGRC has revealed certain details of his editing voluntarily to Durova, allowing me to send a more detailed explanation to her that does not reveal any more information than he has already revealed about himself. But I can not post those details publicly. Thatcher 20:05, 3 October 2008 (UTC) reply

What's the point of this checkuser request? Since his talk page has been undeleted, and everyone knows what his account has been renamed to, he's no longer "vanished". If he wishes to continue editing as an IP or with a new account, then let him. -- Ned Scott 01:11, 5 October 2008 (UTC) reply

Testmasterflex is a new account, created very near the time of LGRC's pretense at vanishing. Took to AFD on its eighth edit (where it voted delete), but its second edit was a dispute with LGRC that strains credibility. No one that has been around WP long enough to use a phrase like "deletionist cabal" would accuse LGRC of being part of it. This distancing established, quickly began to support LGRC (as in this one) and eventually began using LGRC's patented five pillars routine. Kww ( talk) 13:27, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Endorse. I'm facepalming myself right now for not including this in the original request. HiDrNick! 16:05, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply
endorse as well I originally thought this was Fred Day, making an account to troll LeGrand, but later behavior shows that might not be the case. Protonk ( talk) 16:12, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply
Comment Couldn't help but notice this, and wanted to offer a comment. Judging by the user's email address, they might be interested in Sonic the Hedgehog. I recall that some of the Sonic the Hedgehog Wikiproject took issue with rational arguments for delete/keep and began copycatting the "just five pillars" argument from Le Grand. I doubt this is Le Grand, but I suspect it could be any number of the Sonic Wikiproject members, particularly User:Fairfieldfencer. See also: here, here, here, here, and here. It could also be virtually anyone else in Wikipedia. Then again, I wrongly assumed good faith for Elizabeth Rogan, so it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Take my comment at face value, neither an endorsement nor opposition. Randomran ( talk) 16:46, 15 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Please don't use checkuser templates if you don't have checkuser rights. – sgeureka tc 07:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC) reply
I'd just like to point out that I'm in no way a sock puppet. Just a boy trying to keep articles, but didn't have any ground until I decided to use the same tactics as Le Grand. None of my "keeps" were ever backed up by a policy before then. And I doubt anybody would go as far to create as many accounts as I have on various wikis, and even YouTube. Fairfieldfencer FFF 15:30, 21 September 2008 (UTC) reply
  • If neither accounts are doing anything wrong (which appears to be the case) then this is nothing but fishing. -- Ned Scott 04:45, 22 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles

  • Supporting evidence:

Le Grand Roi exercised his right to vanish, but seems to have returned under this new account. If this is in fact the same user, we need to un-vanish his old account and undelete his talk pages and the like. Making a production of having your user pages deleted and then creating a new account is not an appropriate way to avoid scrutiny. A quick inspection of the contributions of the two users ( [1] [2]) will show the relation. Le Grand Roi's previous abuse of alternate accounts makes a checkuser here particularly prudent. See also this thread on AN. Cheers, HiDrNick! 21:20, 14 September 2008 (UTC) reply

I am reluctant to do this check simply for abuse of RTV. Are there some remedies (the AN thread suggests there are) that cover LGRdC? Sam Korn (smoddy) 21:32, 14 September 2008 (UTC) reply
Having been persuaded off-wiki that there are reasonable grounds for concern here and taking into account the history of sockpuppeting, I have run a check. It is  Likely that they are the same user. Sam Korn (smoddy) 21:49, 14 September 2008 (UTC) reply
Clerk note: Alright, I have indef blocked Elisabeth Rogan, but encourage discussion to take place about unblocking Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles and letting him edit under that one account. Tiptoety talk 21:57, 14 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles

I hope this is just an unfortunate coincidence, rather than anything else, but there's only one way to be sure. As shown here, Le Grand Roi has been indefinitely blocked for disruptive sockpuppetry (he'd previously been blocked for editing in the same way with his original account. Horace Horatius is a newly-created account which appears to be behaving in a broadly similar way (advocating articles be kept in disruptive manners). The user has often made reference to his love of history, which makes me wonder if there's something afoot. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 06:17, 30 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Comment These three users cited above had already been blocked and indictaed on their talk pages that they will respect the blocks, in part because of personal health and other reasons. Could you also please show User:Durova that User:ISOLA'd ELBA is NOT a puppet of Le Grand Roi? Thanks. -- 172.133.175.96 20:18, 30 April 2007 (UTC) reply
Checkuser can't prove a negative -- that's why we don't accept "please clear me" sorts of requests. All I can say is ISOLA didn't show up when I tested the others. -- jpgordon ∇∆∇∆ 00:05, 1 May 2007 (UTC) reply
