I personally hate db-spam. It is one of the hardest CSD criteria because it is the poorest defined of the criteria. Personally, I do not find the above to be blatant spam. I find it to be a poorly written article on what is probably not a notable enough company to warrant an article, but it does make a credible claim to significance. I would say this is a case that should have been sent to AFD. Others may disagree with me, which is why I hate this particular criteria. It is too vague.

{{ db-person}} Webkinzlover93 AKA Christiane <DOB removed> is a <age removed> girl who created a webkinz youtube page with over 9000 subs and 1 millions channel views has become one of the most poplar person on youtube in over 18 month period

Balloonman's comments

This article makes clear claims to importance/significance. Might it be a hoax? Possibly, but a quick google search gave me enough that I would never delete it as such. In fact, based upon a 2 minutes review, Webkinzlover93 MIGHT be legit subject. This is clearly a bad call.

A Wikipedia article for a userpage on YouTube? Do we have precedents for that? By YouTube's standards, 1 million page views is really not a lot at all .. I could probably find hundreds of users whose videos have gotten more hits than that. Or, are you simply saying that while the page should be deleted, you disagree with his use of db-person? -- Soap Talk/ Contributions 03:01, 19 August 2009 (UTC) reply
As for the name, it might need to be moved. But it makes a definite claim to significance/importance, thus fulfills the requirements necessary to avoid an A7 deletion. And yes, there are articles on WP about Youtube "producers" wherein the moniker used by the producer is used rather than their real-life name. It is kind of like using a band name or pseudonym by which they are known, so yes, if Webkinz is know as Webkinz, then that could be the article---but that would depend on notability.--- Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 03:04, 19 August 2009 (UTC) reply
I disagree here. This was a speedy candidate. Someone having a Youtube channel that got a bunch of views is not a serious claim to notability. As Soap mentioned, I could find scores of channels with "1 millions channel views". Enigma msg 06:04, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
It is a claim to significance/importance, that does not mean that it meets our requirements for notability. The two are explicitly separate standards, with the standard for CSD deliberately set lower than the standard for Notability. The standard to avoid CSD is that it makes a claim to significance/importance, and this article made such a claim. And yes, there might be scores of channels with 1 million hits... just as there are scores of governors of the United States, World Series of Poker bracelet winners, professional athletes from unknown country X. The fact that there are scores does not mean that it is not a claim to significance. The reason the bar is lower is because sometimes, the subject has the potential to being fleshed out and real significance identified later.--- Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 13:47, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
So what if I created an article about Bob Scott, who has two thousand friends on Facebook? Or an article about "Enigmaman's blog", which gets two thousand hits a week? Or an article on Balloonman, a Wikipedia administrator who has made thousands of administrative actions and ran for bureaucrat? Having a Youtube channel is not a claim to significance or importance, and having to send every Youtube channel to AfD is a waste of time. My point is that I think if you polled the administrators on Wikipedia who are involved in CSD, most would speedy such an article. Enigma msg 14:47, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
2,000 < 1,000,000... one million is a significant number. At a million hits you have clearly gone beyond your circle of friends and entered the realm of being somewhat known. I do have a website that gets close to 5K hits a month... but it is a long way away from a million. At 5K a month, it will take that page 200 months to get to a million! The proper thing would be to PROD the article. I'd be surprised if this would have to go to AFD, but even if it did, so what?--- Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 15:10, 20 August 2009 (UTC) NOTE: As the RfA in question is over, I've raised this question at WT:CSD--- Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 15:17, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
I just would not like to think that AfDs would have to be opened for all these things. PROD isn't really helpful either. Enigma msg 15:35, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
Also, I think the key here is that the administrator agreed with him and deleted it. You could restore it and send it to AfD if you think it asserts notability. Enigma msg 19:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply
Just noting, but I've removed the girl's DOB and age to avoid unnecessary BLP concerns. Cheers, everyone. lifebaka ++ 17:28, 20 August 2009 (UTC) reply

SolomonHarsha was a resume... as such it clearly does not belong in the encyclopedia. That being said, there are claims to importance/significance. I just pulled a few of them out. Would this fail at AfD? Definitely. Is it CSD eligible? No. See WP:WIHSD as to why something that is sure to fail at AFD is still not CSD eligible. Many would argue that this is a case for IAR, but IMO, there could be something there... I doubt it, but you never know.

-- HISTORY --

Tartarus Pharm has almost half a century of experience in helping the American public with their health concerns. Tartarus was founded in 1968. The company was founded by a government grant to help ensure the safety of our nation through medical research. The company achieved initial success in combating the deplorable increase in powerful hallucinogenic drugs that were rotting America’s youth from the core outwards. Tartarus’ first success was a drug that blocked the serotonin receptors overloaded by commonly abused hallucinogens. This proved historical, in helping rehabilitate addicted drug users.

Tartarus became a privately funded company in 1972, purchased and owned by one man, Dr. Farbius Gustenblaat, with a focus in pharmaceutical research. Tartarus has a long history of successful campaigns to develop new and innovative medications to solve American’s medical needs.

The main research laboratory in the Tartarus headquarters building is dedicated to Dr. Farbius Gustenblaat’s late wife Hilda. It houses state of the art equipment, and is a complete genetic research modification facility. Also, it houses one of the worlds few level four bio-contamination facilities.

--- DR. FARBIUS GUSTENBLAAT ---

Farbius Lichtenstein Gustenblaat IV was born in 1948 in Prague. He attended the University of Tübingen for his undergraduate studies. He then received a grant to study biology at NYU.

He married Hilda Checkov in the summer of 1987. He was 20 years her senior. They had one child that same year, and named him Jesse Gustenblaat.

This was tagged as db-corp and changed by user:DGG, whom I usually agree with on CSD to DB-SPAM. But IMO both of these are invalid criteria. First, the article does not list any website or address, which weakens DGG's position. Also, most of the time when I see true spam, it reads like a brochure... this reads like... somebody was trying to write an article without any clue as to how to do so. Second, the article makes a clear claim to significance, "it houses one of the worlds few level four bio-contamination facilities." While it may not be sourced, A7 explicitly states that the only a claim to significance has to be asserted. The article also claims that the companies discovery of "a drug that blocked the serotonin receptors" was "historical" in helping adicts. In other words, the tagging of this article as A7 is clearly not correct. The stuff about Gustenblaat at the end definitely should go, but this was not an A7 (or IMO SPAM) candidate.
