Lord of the Rings
I've never seen the Village Pump before, so in spite of over 800 edits this is my first request to have a piece looked at. Anyway, I added a considerable chunk of material about the Lord of the Rings video games under adaptations, and would appreciate any comments people have on it.

- Way down at the very bottom of the article there is a line which says "For links to games, see Works inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien.". However, that page merely mentions that computer games based on The Lord of the Rings have been created. The whole 'adaptations' section of the Lord of the Rings article overlaps heavily with the 'Works inspired by' article above and the two ought to be merged somehow. The content you added itself looks good. You covered most of the major 'Tolkien based' games I'm familiar with except the Moria and Angband roguelike games. I was surprised to see there isn't an existing article on 'War in Middle-earth'. -- CBD ☎ ✉ 17:51, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- For the plot summary section, it should have a plot summary, even a very brief one, rather than just links to the individual book articles. I made a start on it -- Astrokey44| talk 12:05, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- For the pop culture section, how about writing a paragraph or two with an overview or intro outlining its influence etc. Maybe consider changing it to 'References in popular culture'. Forever young 10:16, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- The "links to games" were actually references to the numerous boardgames available, and as you say, the article mentions the video games in passing. There was no material available on Wikipedia covering video game adaptations of the stories up until now, although I'm not sure if it is a "pop culture" reference - the games really are adaptations as opposed to being influenced by then. Thanks for the comments everybody.
