Wikipedia:KIS/WPTennis
I guess (based on the categories) that this is intended to be a template (and hence it should really be in the Template namespace), but as KIS was just a short-lived user initiative (e.g. see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Keep It Simple) this page can probably now be deleted. Note: If this is deleted then the rest of Category:Keep It Simple templates should probably be brought to MFD. DexDor ( talk) 23:15, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
- These used to be in template space with userboxes. This one was named {{ user label WPTennis}}. Some related templates started with "user icon" instead of "user label". They were moved per user box migration after a TfD. New labels are created in user space, (and new subpages of WP:KIS are not recommended.) Since the TfD, the labels have also been used for topicons. I have been merging and deleting redundant subpages, some discussed at MfD, and others redirected or speedied, but I have left these project labels alone. Some projects either moved them to their own space or created them there. My !vote will depend on the wishes of WP:WikiProject Tennis, which I have notified. (I believe I have invited them to move it to a subpage of their project or tag it for deletion, in the past, and they left it under WP:KIS.) I would also support userfication if one of the people using the label wants it. (Is there a userbox parameter or something for nominating a userbox? - Weak keep, simply because it is used by a few. I haven't heard from any other project members on this issue. Disclaimer: I just decided to join the tennis project, because I happen to be getting involved with the templates and articles using them, and placed this on my userpage. I was not using it when this discussion started. Note: I edited the template to noinclude the large notification and added a smaller one after the TfD method. Is there a reason why such a notification isn't transcluded for userboxes in general, other than formatting issues? —PC -XT + 03:01, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- Keep. At the MfD for WP:WPKIS, it was noted that some people use this system, which is true. This particular template has 5 transclusions; while not at the same level as, for instance, {{ User contrib}} with 4,000+ transclusions, it's not completely unused at all.
