We are a club at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) that aims to create a space within CSUN, one not only of a unifying spirit for the various STEM fields, but one that serves and unites the queer community. During the semester we will meet on a weekly basis for networking, topic discussions, guest lecturers, mock presentations, talks, club retreats, and hopefully collaborating with other clubs and groups for workshops pertinent to the STEM fields.
The organizers will provide a list of suggested topics and some research materials, but participants are encouraged to write and edit articles on any subjects of their choosing. We aim to add or update queer (LGBT+) scientists, technicians/technologist. engineers and mathematicians profiles on Wikipedia. All levels are welcome, so those new to Wikipedia can learn the basics and begin editing. We will provide a short training session at 2:30 pm. We ask that participants bring their own laptops and chargers if possible. This event is free and all are welcome.
