What's going on?
An edit war started on Jan 25th and the article was protected on Jan 26th. The issues the edit war was about are described in detail [ here], [ here], [ here], and [ here]. In brief, some content is being deleted without any attempt to justify the deletions, and other content is being added against the objection that it will over-represent a very small minority.
Since the article was protected only RyanFreisling, Kevin baas, and myself have engaged in discussion regarding the issues involved. The rest of the involved editors have largely ignored the ensuing discussion, so we are unable to come to consensus.
What would you like to change about that?
It would be nice if all the involved editors could resume dialogue and come to consensus on these issues so that the article can be unprotected and we can get back to the business of improving the article.
The article was unprotected on Feb 19th, and so far the edit war has not resumed. This is a good sign, but the rest of the issues described here have not been resolved. So it would still be nice if someone not involved in the dispute could have a look at it. noosphere 02:05, 22 February 2006 (UTC) reply
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
I am fine with working on this in the open. I am reachable on my talk page.

Mediator response

I've left a note on the talk page opening discussion. Ted 02:48, 27 February 2006 (UTC) reply

closing case, lack of response
I'm going to close this case, due to lack of interest from the parties involved. the only respondents to the request for mediation were named users, who don't seem to have much of a problem working together, given the contentious nature of the topic. everything seems to be going well. My belief is that the problem was caused by unregistered users, and should be dealt with as vandalism (rather than as a content dispute) if it arises again. Ted 02:13, 6 March 2006 (UTC) reply
