  • serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to games on Wikipedia
  • maintain the portal

Project Structure

Discussion

Issues concerning game related articles and topics are discussed on the main talk page.

Assessment

The Assessment department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's game related articles. The resulting article ratings are used within the project to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work. This system will be used in the future to select official A-Class articles.

Cleanup

The Cleanup department focuses on improving the overall quality of Wikipedia's games articles, and their compliance with the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. The cleanup effort is meant to reduce the amount of unnecessary content and articles within the WikiProject Games. It also aims to help in the progression of articles that require work to climb up the assessment scale.

Templates

Anyone can participate in this WikiProject. You may indicate your participation by adding the userbox {{ User WPGames}} to your user page, shown on the right. This will add you to Category:WikiProject Games participants. Alternatively, if you do not wish to use the userbox, you may add [[Category:WikiProject Games participants|{{PAGENAME}}]] to the end of your user page.

Award

Any editor who advances the knowledge and understanding of all games (at least two areas, preferably more) is eligible for the WikiProject Games Barnstar. A userbox is also available to display this barnstar on your userpage: {{ Wikipedia:WikiProject Games/Award Userbox}}. The userbox is handy if you need to save space on the screen. A ribbon alternative is also available (shortly).

Welcoming

You can welcome new users who have made good contributions to game-related articles by adding the {{ WWGame Welcome}} template to their talk page.
