These mechanical diagrams are tagged as uncopyrightable works of simple geometry. They are reasonably complex diagrams, and creative choices were made in their construction. I believe they are copyrightable. (See also "Technical and Scientific Drawings", chapter 922, Compendium of U.S. Copyright Practices). Wikiacc ( ) 02:12, 16 August 2020 (UTC) reply

Hello Wikiacc,
I believe all these diagrams were uploaded justly and fairly, in accordance to Wikipedia's policy. They weren't uploaded to cause harm, or to be destructive, but rather to be constructive and informative. They are all for demonstrations purposes only and help the article out immensely. They have also been shared around the public domain many times, and there does not seem to be a definite "single" original owner. I have done nothing wrong, these are all purely for educational purposes. I've also tried to gather as much copyright info as I can in the descriptions of the mechanical diagrams, but as I explained, a lot of these images do not have a single distinct "owner." Thanks Davism0703 for commenting here. Every copyrighted work has a copyright holder (a person, an organization, or a company), even if we don't know who it is. So if these works are indeed copyrighted, their use here needs to comply with WP:NFCC. (Note that these rules are much stricter than legal requirements, so it's possible for a work to be shared everywhere around the internet but still not be allowed here.) • Delete These are too recent for {{ PD-US-not renewed}}, so I can't think of any way that they'd be under a free license unless the author released them, which we'd need documented. The Squirrel Conspiracy ( talk) 17:01, 16 August 2020 (UTC) reply

Through the deletion outcome of another related file at Commons:Commons:Deletion_requests/File:SATeaGarden03.JPG, works of undated plaques on the US soil are not allowed on Wikimedia Commons, especially if it seems that private entity is the one who commissioned such markers. It's presence on Wikipedia is irrelevant, as Wikipedia is suppsedly not a place to host images per WP:NOTGALLERY. It's use on the said article falls below allowable fair use, since the elimination of photos of informational plaques do not deter the understanding of the topic. The result of the discussion was: Textbook WP:NFCC#8 violation, no policy-based arguments given to keep. No prejudice to restoration if the article is significantly expanded to explicitly discuss this importance image. - FASTILY 04:38, 24 August 2020 (UTC) reply

Fails WP:NFCC 8 - Not critical to the understanding of the article topic, supporting prose is a brief aside in the article. The Squirrel Conspiracy ( talk) 16:59, 16 August 2020 (UTC) reply

  • Keep I don't see what is particularly wrong about it, as it depicts a low res version of the cover of one of the soundtracks. It is related to the subject of the article, informative and fair use, and there is only one cover in the entire article, so it does not seem unnecessary.
