File:Nauru national football team logo.gif ( delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Fenix down ( notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This image doesn't appear to have any provenance. It is copied from the Italian Wikipedia, which in turn copied it from de.wiki, where it has since been deleted. I can only find one hit for a similar logo on the entire net, which appears to be a fansite (if quite a professional looking one). However even that site says it is the logo of the Nauru Amateur Football Association, not necessarily of the national team (about which there is some doubt whether it actually exists anyway). • Keep - completely illogical rationale for the following reasons:
  1. Logo clearly has provenance from the fansite noted (could you provide a link). Not likely that the logo would have gained widespread on line use given that this is a soccer association for a small pacific island that has not been that active. No reason to doubt the fansite is not reliable. Logo was originally uploaded with a different source but this version was deleted that has now been lost and seems to be dead.
  2. That it is used not the national team rather than the association is not relevant. As a non free logo it should only be used once but is not currently used on the association page, only the national team article and has an appropriate fair use rationale.
  3. There is no question that the national team exists and the article is reliably sourced to one of the most respected statistic sites for football.
The correct course of action is to update the fair use rationale with the link noted above. Fenix down ( talk) 07:53, 21 May 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Delete - Source given is a blogspot page, which is not a reliable source for the assertion that the logo illustrates the national team, which all reliable sources indicate has never actually existed in any official capacity in the first place.-- Tdl1060 ( talk) 23:38, 21 May 2017 (UTC) reply
