Shortcut WP:CT/GMO

The Arbitration Committee has enacted remedies that apply to all editors who make edits related to genetically modified organisms, commercially produced agricultural chemicals and the companies that produce them, broadly construed (the "contentious topic"). The contentious topics procedure applies to all pages and edits related to this contentious topic.

Additionally, the following arbitration remedies apply to all pages and edits related to this contentious topic:

• Editors are prohibited from making more than one revert per page per day on any page relating to genetically modified organisms, commercially produced agricultural chemicals and the companies that produce them, broadly construed, subject to the usual exemptions.

Discretionary sanctions

All pages relating to genetically modified organisms, commercially produced agricultural chemicals and the companies that produce them, broadly construed, are designated as a contentious topic.

Editors are prohibited from making more than one revert per page per day on any page relating to genetically modified organisms, commercially produced agricultural chemicals and the companies that produce them, broadly construed and subject to the usual exemptions.

The following guidance applies to enforcement in this topic area:

Any uninvolved administrator may impose the standard set of restrictions in this topic area for up to one year:

Individual restrictions

• sitewide and partial blocks,
• topic bans and page bans (from the entire contentious topic, a subtopic, or specified pages within the topic),
• interaction bans,
• revert restrictions

Page restrictions

• page protection,
• revert restrictions,
• the " consensus required" restriction,
• the " enforced BRD" restriction

The Arbitration Committee has, after the Genetically modified organisms case was closed, amended the remedies that apply to this topic area on the following occasions:

• January 2016: DS topic scope expanded to include "the companies that produce" commercially produced agricultural chemicals ( motion)
• August 2020: Scope of 1RR expanded to reflect 19 January 2016 motion ( motion)

The Arbitration Committee resolved requests for clarification or amendment on topic-wide remedies on the following occasions:

• May 2016: The Committee declined to mandate a binding RfC on a dispute ( archived request)
• June 2016: The Committee clarified that the use of discretionary sanctions to enforce a binding RfC was an allowable use of discretionary sanctions ( archived request)
