Humm, as I understood it, you want to take over the account in question in order to make it a doppelganger and prevent future impersonation. I actually created both accounts. I wanted to change my username and just created an account for the new name I wanted to use. It wasn't until later that I realized that I didn't want to lose my edits from my previous account and it would be nicer to switch names. Hence, the usurpation request. Note that I originally requested User:Stephen, as User:Steve has one edit from 6.5 years ago. Dan stated on the talk page that he has no qualms in giving User:Steve away but the discussion above on "Brownbot ← Cbrown1023" suggests a technical limitation that a single log, other than user creation, prevents a usurpation. Minor note, found one incoming link to User:Malatesta, from Wikipedia:WikiProject Beer/WikiProject Beer participants. That page appears to have been copied from Wikipedia:WikiProject Beer in December 2006, where we can see Dklangen (the submitter), added him/herself to the list, then changed the signature.
