I promise to continue to edit in good faith and not for the purpose of promotion, advocacy or other unsuitable agenda, but solely for the purpose of building and improving the Wikipedia as a trusted reference website. I am here to edit on topics that I am knowledgeable in or have very reliable resources to base my edits on, and I am willing to learn more with a lot of help from the Wikipedia community. When in doubt about the neutrality of my future edits, definitely I would ask you guys first for comments and advice, and submit the proposed or suggested edits to a discussion for approval on the relevant talk page or noticeboard using the necessary request template. Jimmy suggested to post something to that effect on your talk page, he didn't say to make it your username (nor does he set policy on these things anyway). If another bureaucrat feels that "Alcoa Editor" is appropriate, then they can go ahead and complete this change; but I don't think having the company name in there alleviates the concern. The fact that this account
changes hands from time to time is also problematic;

Reason: I have used my real name as username and do not wish to be identified on wikipedia. i was stupid not to follow that simple privacy protection principle.
Reason: For some time, I have been thinking to rename by current username to Volcanoguy because my main work on Wikipedia is related to volcanology and igneous petrology. So renaming to Volcanoguy is better and a more accurate username than Black Tusk. I picked my current username because when I wanted to become a user of Wikipedia in 2006 I could not think of a username, so I used Black Tusk from the Canadian volcano as a fill in.
Reason: Very close to my actual name, a different signature is not enough - I would like anonymity. Thanks.

Reason: Omar Cheeseboro is a name of a guy who used to play college football (not me). I think it's a funny name, but it's not a good idea to have a name of a real living person. I realize this will break my SUL. Thank you!
Reason: Old username is blocked on de.wiki per their username policy; moving to a new name so I can have a SUL. Already signing as Joshua Scott, so avoids confusion --

May I also request that my counterpart Wikimedia account of the same username be likewise changed to sw111 for a unified user login. I understand that my current username suggests that I am a role account, however, this account is not shared by multiple people and the edits I make under this account represent only my own edits as an individual. To promote transparency and abide by COI, I feel it's important that our username be changed so it's not verbatim our company name. However, to promote transparency and still provide some affiliation with our company, I feel its important that if we do not include at least a portion of our company name, we are not following the principles of Jimmy Wales who was quoted as saying, "...identify yourself as the 'communications' guy from _____ company."

The fact that this account
changes hands from time to time is also problematic;
wp:role accounts are not permitted (with rare exceptions). Please choose a name that represents you and confirm that this account will not change hands again. –

Okay, thank you for clarification. Please change my username to 'Alcoa Corp Comm' and I hereby confirm that this is my personal account and will not change hands. –
Alcoa
Please choose a name that 1) represents you as an individual; 2) does not give the impression that it is a role account; and 3) does not contain a company name. –

Reason: STATE A REASON HERE- username chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website. L.G. Cam 06:35, 15 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding

I can rename you, but a record will exist in the logs for the determined. A better solution would be for me to rename your account to "Renamed user nnnn" and you simply create a new one with your chosen name. How's that? –

Thank you!
