It was clearly a mistake to use my email address as my username, because I get a daily flooding of spam from using it. Also, because I have been using the handle "Voltaire", I feel particularity attached to the name. However, "Voltaire" is a registered name with 3 edits, though only to userpages, so I was not able to usurp that name. It was clearly a mistake to use my email address as my username, because I get a daily flooding of spam from using it. Also, because I have been using the handle "Voltaire", I feel particularity attached to the name. However, "Voltaire" is a registered name with 3 edits, though only to userpages, so I was not able to usurp that name. "Volt@ire" would be a great second choice, but even after reading the policy on usernames, I am not entirely sure if I am allowed to use leetspeak in my username. Thanks for your time! - Done Leetspeak substitutions are allowed (but not allowed to get round other naming issues..). You are not allowed an @ in your name if it is an email address as this is seen as promotional. This is fine though.
