- I see that - but just to change capitalisation seems so trivial when it leads to his block record being lost. I see that he's redirecting his userpage to the different capitalisation so not getting new messages notices etc.. I've removed the notdone template so the bot doesn't archive. I'm minded not to rename at all if they have a block record considering that the system is broken in this regard. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks though.

- I was blocked once in my early stages of being a member for breaking the 3rr rule, which I wasn't even aware of at that time and since then I have contributed a lot to this project. I have worked to get the cricket world cup to an FA article and I continue to contribute to the articles. I would like you to reconsider it since, at the time I was block I really was still doing things in good faith but just not according to the policies because I was ignorant of them at the time. I think I contribute enough to be forgiven for that. The capitalization might not seem a big deal but It kind of does to me since the user name means something to me and z is separate from the rest because it's intended work as "'s" and all together meaning child of a thug, and the thug being the world. The latter part isn't supposed to be taken in a negative way but that life in this world is tough and "thugish" but you still gotta live. Will you please reconsider?--

Daniel.Bryant → Daniel
OK, last time this was submitted it recieved some attention from a Bureaucrat, regarding prior history of renames. For full transparency, I've only ever had one rename and one usurpation done. One was an emergency to the secondary account,
Daniel-Bryant (
talk ·
contribs) (as Essjay had strong evidence to suggest my secondary account had been comprimised, per IP's), and the other was to usurp the "Daniel" account so I could change my main account (Daniel.Bryant) to it at a later date. The reason I usurped "Daniel" with a non-primary account was that Essjay suggested to me that changing my username one or two weeks before an RfA would be extremely disruptive to the discussion process at RfA. Hence, I decided I'd wait till after my RfA passed to come back and change my main account to "Daniel".
Someone has said to me that the previous interrogation about my renaming past was to determine if I was a "serial username changer" or similar, as the bureaucrats in general have shown an indifference to people who fall in this bracket (I know a couple, but won't name them), and who don't really focus on the main goal of the encyclopedia but rather pretend Wikipedia is a giant MMORPG or similar. I think my 23,000 edits and the fact that I recently had a successful RfA should deal with any doubts, and given the fact that I have never really changed my name with intent on my main account or any other (see the usurpation explanation above), I really can't see why this would be an issue.
Another issue that could potentially have caused the doubt was the fact that I have an entry in my block log. It was explained
here. My apologies for the terseness before, but I found the constant questioning quite insulting, given I worked at CHU for a number of months as a clerk (in fact, the first clerk), so I knew why I was being questioned in that way, and I objected to the general characterisation. My apologies for not assuming good faith. Cheers,

- PS: Can the bureaucrat who completes this, if they do so, please recreate the 'Daniel.Bryant' account to prevent impersonation, and email me the password? Cheers if that's possible!
- Done. The software won't let anyone create the Daniel.Bryant account as it is too close to an existing username. There is a procedure under
Wikipedia:Request an account but I think you need an email address for that. I couldn't work out how to do it without one anyway.

- There is no doubt that someone who seems to only write about a gay British journalist doesn't 'accidently' name themselves after the lead singer of Abba.
