- Because users have a long history of ignoring the instructions and just doing whatever they want; we implemented the tempalte to make doing this job a little easier on us, and it's only fair to expect that users will use it. The text is indeed the same, but the links aren't there, making it take about four times as long to do which adds up when you do 20 at a time; I frequently spend an hour here doing nothing but renames, and I don't have four hours a day to offer because users can't be bothered to use the template. My experience with wiki-processes like this is that if you don't demand compliance, you'll get precisely none, so I expect that if they want the courtesy of a bureaucrat performing the username, they'll show the courtesy of using the template as asked. - Because users have a long history of ignoring the instructions and just doing whatever they want; we implemented the tempalte to make doing this job a little easier on us, and it's only fair to expect that users will use it. The text is indeed the same, but the links aren't there, making it take about four times as long to do which adds up when you do 20 at a time; I frequently spend an hour here doing nothing but renames, and I don't have four hours a day to offer because users can't be bothered to use the template. My experience with wiki-processes like this is that if you don't demand compliance, you'll get precisely none, so I expect that if they want the courtesy of a bureaucrat performing the username, they'll show the courtesy of using the template as asked.
