This page is for discussion of the page titles of the principal pages relating to Macedonia. All letters on proposals were derived from proposals made during the first phase of the discussion.
Please endorse only one proposal, and leave a (preferably) short comment if you wish. Direct any discussion of other users' endorsements to the talk page.
The title of the country article would be unambiguous. In no circumstance would any reader find himself directed to an article he didn't seek for. This version would be the least likely to raise objections. No one is likely to think of this solution as representing any POV on any matter.
*For the reasons stated by those who signed before me.

* Second choice. I believe that there is no primary topic for the term "Macedonia", as demonstrated by
reliable sources in the evidence section
[9] and according to
WP:DISAMBIG which states that: "If there is extended discussion about which article truly is the primary topic, that may be a sign that there is in fact no primary topic". Of the disambiguated terms currently available in our proposals,
Republic of Macedonia seems like the simplest and less ambiguous name for the country.
Macedonia (country) could be confused with
Macedon the kingdom. Finally,
Republic of Macedonia is a term by which the Republic
de jure self-identifies, as is officially via its constitution (see
[10]). --

This was the status quo before 23 September 2005.
