Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, most year categories contain only one or two articles. A decade level is more appropriate, like with the Byzantine Empire and the Holy Roman Empire in the Middle Ages. (signed a day later Marcocapelle ( talk) 07:11, 14 September 2018 (UTC)) reply
  • Generally support -- We actually have two kinds in category contents here: (1) 1xxx in France and (2) an article on an event of foundation. Care is needed to ensure that the French character of the latter is not lost. Peterkingiron ( talk) 10:31, 14 September 2018 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: No clear definition and the article creator has added articles for which it seems completely inappropriate. I'm going to ping another Admin, User:UsGraham87 who has some experience with this editor. At the moment I've left the articles in this category although I don't think they belong. Nominator's rationale: Curling is largely a Canadian sport, hence the category Category:2018 in curling has two (adequate) subcategories Category:2018 in Canadian curling and Category:2018 in women's curling.
