The result of the discussion was: delete/merge. The merge vs. delete issue is largely academic for this category, since the only content is Love Conquers All (film) and the categorization on that article can easily be changed as users see fit. For now, I'm upmerging it to the the parent categories, since that is the standard thing to do in these situations. Good Ol’factory (talk) 04:09, 23 November 2015 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: Too specific, I don't see the categories Category:French-language Swiss films, Category:French-language Algerian films, Category:French-language Canadian films either. Timmyshin ( talk) 18:09, 12 November 2015 (UTC) reply
  • Comment - keep or a mild merge -- The language of a film is fundamental to it. Malaysia has a significant Chinese minority. I am not clear how many are Mandarin speakers and how many Cantonese, but potentially we may need a category for each. If we have a Chinese-language category, it may need splitting. I suspect that there are not many countries that are sufficiently multi-lingual to need this kind of split. Peterkingiron ( talk) 17:57, 15 November 2015 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: rename per nomination; as I understand it, the alternative specific terms Yaksha/Yakshini are gender-specific. – Fayenatic L ondon 11:37, 18 January 2016 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: Attendant deities also exist in Hindu and Buddhist iconography. So to be more specific about the religion. Redtigerxyz Talk 11:24, 12 November 2015 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Lordship of Ireland. – Fayenatic L ondon 11:42, 18 January 2016 (UTC) reply
Nominator's rationale: upmerge since "Norman" is part of "Medieval", adding Norman in the category name is redundant. Marcocapelle ( talk) 07:01, 2 November 2015 (UTC) reply
  • The contents isn't about Normans in Ireland, it's rather about medieval Ireland since the English started to occupy Ireland. Marcocapelle ( talk) 19:03, 4 November 2015 (UTC) reply
  • I doubt if this really adds value. About half of the 14 articles can be categorized straight into a century category (or are already categorized so) and for the remainder it doesn't make a lot of difference whether Category:Medieval Ireland has 193 or 200 articles. Marcocapelle ( talk) 22:46, 5 November 2015 (UTC) reply
  • Comment -- The preceding period in Irish history is known as "Early Christian". In other places it might be "early Medieval". The problem is with the scope of the target, which needs the splitting out of Category:Early Christian Ireland. One way of doing that might be ALT2, followed by purging out anything pre-1169 into Early Christian, leaving "Medieval" as a container category, which we can eliminate when empty. Sorry, I do not have the time to implement this. Peterkingiron ( talk) 18:53, 8 November 2015 (UTC) reply
  • I could follow what you were saying about using "Medieval" as a container category for two period categories (pre- and post-1169). But I'm not sure what you mean by "which we can eliminate when empty." Marcocapelle ( talk) 20:30, 9 November 2015 (UTC) reply

  • I can also support Category:Lordship of Ireland provided this is provided with a clear headnote to the effect that it relates to the period when the Kings of England claimed to be Lords of Ireland. It was in fact often a fairly nominal overlordship except in the Pale. I would still like to see us developing an Category:Early Christian Ireland for the preceding period. • Merge to Category:Star Wars spin-off films: Correction; there are plans for three Anthology films and they're still called "Anthology", but no one's perfect. That being said, I'm fine with this film being categorized as a spin-off, until there are articles for all three films, which should take at least a year or so.
