The first Wikipedia Academy in India for 2010 is planned for the Jan 23, 2010, at the CIS offices, Bangalore.
Wikipedia Academies are public outreach events aimed at engaging academics, other subject-matter experts and anyone else who are not familiar with wiki culture or online communities. In presentations and workshops, experienced Wikipedia authors teach the participants how to contribute to Wikipedia and orient the audience to Wikipedia’s structures and community policies.

On Cunningham Road, about half a kilometre from the Indian Express Junction, Center for Internet and Society (CIS) is located behind Wockhardt Hospital (in the same building). This building is right next to Sigma mall.
You will need to walk to the rear of the Wockhardt building and get to the 3rd floor.

A special thanks goes to CIS for the venue.
A team of roughly 3 wikipedians volunteered to assist the Sanskrita Bharathi participants in their first steps of editing, not only on the day of the Academy, but in the weeks and months to follow.
There were 11 Sanskrita Bharathi participants at the Academy. They were be introduced to Wikipedia and contributing to wikipedia content.
