Spring 2016: As part of our Introduction to Photojournalism students do profiles of notable photographers. Our goal in the Wikipedia portion of the assignment is to improve the articles and increase the number of articles on female and/or people of color photographers. Our focus is on those who have a photojournalism background, but we won't restrict ourselves to photojournalism. This semester's class is taught by Prof. Mary Kay McFarland.
Week 1 – Thursday, Jan. 21:
In class discussion of project, description of oral presentation and Wikipedia project list of photographers for presentations
Signup for photographer/editor/video journalist on shared Google Drive Doc. By Jan. 26 (First come, first serve on the Google Signup). Or propose a different
photographer/editor/video journalist but they must meet our criteria of notable
for Wikipedia and either not have a page, or have a page that’s in need of
improvement.
Start research once you’ve picked your photographer
