In this course, students will utilize an analytical feminist lens to explore Hip Hop’s history, aesthetics, and politics, paying particular attention to the various modes of resistance created by marginalized participant actors (girls, women, and queer individuals).
Complete Student Training Module
Students will attend the Edit a thon on March 5th or 6th. If you can not attend, you must edit an article on your own.
Crew explores Wikipedia and lists 3–5 topics on their Wikipedia user page that they are
interested in for the project. Describe your reasoning for your choices! Instructor will approve.
· Being compiling an annotated bibliography of at least 10 relevant
and reliable sources and post them to the talk page of the article you are
working on. Make sure to check in on the talk page (or watchlist) to see if
anyone has advice on your bibliography.
Draft a summary version of your article—with citations—in your Wikipedia sandbox.
As a crew, students will review and respond to classmates’ pages (pages will have topic
and annotated bibliography at this point). Ask them questions about their
topic, suggest sources and citations, etc.
Move sandbox articles into main space and start developing live. Do NOT copy and paste your text, or there will be no record of your work history. Follow the “Moving
out of Sandbox” handout on BB to successfully move your work. Post link to
Facebook Page when it is live!
Crews will present their pages in class.
