This page, and the companion Research page, exist to support composing new articles about newspapers (current and/or historical) in the state of South Carolina.
This is a work in progress; please feel free to tidy up or organize the lists if you see a need!
This page lists newspapers. Some already have a Wikipedia article, but it needs improvement of some kind; others don't have a Wikipedia article at all, and may or may not qualify for one under Wikipedia's notability standards.
The
Research page records notes and bibliographic information about books and articles (some online, some not) that cover South Carolina newspapers, which may be used as reference materials to support writing or improving these articles.
There's no such thing as a "finished" page on Wikipedia, but these are pages that have been brought up to the minimum standard established for the News On Wiki campaign. Please feel free to further improve these!
Not Started or Notes Only
These articles have not been started. We encourage you so start one by clicking the "Draft" link at the end. If you are a newbie we encourage you to first engage with some drafts (above) to build a bit of experience and learn some basic constructs.
Before starting, please use the "wiki" link to make sure the page does not already exist under a different name. If you find it under a slightly different name, alter the link here to match the name in mainspace, and remove the link to create a draft (or ask for help to do this). Then move it to "Completed or Found". Alternatively, if you get a bit into research and realize the page may have notability problems, move it to that section.
When you have made substantial progress on the page (more than just notes and links), move it to the "Started" section, and consider inviting others through email, Twitter, or Slack to contribute. Watch this page to see new updates in status of pages.
