The
London Mathematical Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2015, and as part of the
Northern Regional Meeting and Workshop at
Lancaster University, we will be hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon. It will take place on the afternoon of 8th April 2015. The session will begin with a short talk about editing basics, and experienced Wikipedians will be available to provide assistance and answer questions throughout. The goal of the afternoon will be to have conference participants improve some Wikipedia articles related to mathematics. Since the conference is in celebration of the LMS, in addition to improving mathematical content, we would also welcome changes to articles relating to British mathematics and its history!
Wikipedia:Teahouse - A friendly venue where new (or old) editors can ask questions about anything, with very prompt response times (almost always within an hour, and often much sooner).
Lists of mathematics articles in need of attention
Wikipedia:Requested articles/Mathematics - A list of hundreds of requested mathematics articles (roughly sorted by subject); these either need to be
redirected to the appropriate article, or a new article needs to be created
Wikipedia:Pages needing attention/Mathematics - A very long list of mathematics articles which are sorted by the type of issue the article has (i.e. articles lacking sources, articles lacking context, confusing articles, etc)
