This page contains a list of open tasks for the Heraldry and Vexillology Wikiproject. If you want to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of heraldry and vexillology, pick a task from the list below. Feel free to add tasks to the appropriate sections, or discuss them on the talk page.
A series of articles about the use of heraldry of different countries, ideally featuring the following points:
Add the template {{Heraldry by country}} at the bottom of the article to produce the following navbox
Click on a red link above to create a new article. Click on a blue link for an existing article, which probably needs improvement. Edit the template to add/remove countries.
The quality of articles within the scope of the project can now be assessed by adding a class parameter to the {{ WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology}} template on an article's talk page, e.g. {{WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology|class=stub}}. Rating articles in this way allows us to see what articles we need to focus on, and tracking the number of articles in different classes over time will gives us a quantitative measure of the improvement in Wikipedia's coverage of heraldry and vexillology. At the moment around 80 articles need to be assessed. See the assessment department for more details.
The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography contains a large number of biographies of British officers of arms. It would be good if we could get a decent article of each of these heralds. A list can be found here. The ODNB article can obviously be used as a source, see the ODNB website. Most public libraries in the UK and Ireland allow their members to access the ODNB website from home, see here for more information
It would be useful to develop recommended guidelines for national flag pages (Flag of ... pages), including improving and promulgating the Template:National flag infobox.
