13:13:20, 23 August 2017 review of submission by Charlie Wordsmith

The above article was not accepted.I just wanted to make sure of the exact reason-Is it because the topic is not notable or any other reason? Charlie Wordsmith ( talk) 13:13, 23 August 2017 (UTC) reply

Hello, Charlie. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. The best source of information as to why your submission was declined will be the person who declined it. You'll find that person's name and Talk page link in the "decline box" at the top of the draft. But I took a quick look at it before posting here, and found that I too would have declined it. You haven't offered any references whatsoever. I don't doubt that the poem exists, but you haven't demonstrated its existence. You also haven't given any demonstration that the poem has been noticed, and discussed, by anyone other than you. These are serious failings that would have caused any reviewer here to decline your submission. In order to get a feel for what is needed in a proper article on a poem, take a look at some of our better articles on poems, such as Ode on a Grecian Urn, A Song for Simeon, The Raven or To Autumn. Doing this will point you in the direction of developing your draft into something that might be acceptable. I hope this response has been helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Hi Tice89. Article Jason Innocent exists. Editor Greyfell requested that it be speedily deleted, but it was not. Because it is an existing article, it is outside of our scope. You can edit the existing article to improve it; there is nothing to be gained by pursuing Draft:Jason Innocent. The best way to ensure an article is kept is to add arms-length, reliable, secondary sources that provide significant coverage of the topic. A librarian may be able to help you find such sources. -- Worldbruce ( talk) 03:28, 24 August 2017 (UTC) reply

I have included footnotes but it looks like #9 did not come across. Is that the issue with my declined submission?

Reply - Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are looking to clean up your citations, I would direct you here where you can learn more about what is expected for the references in your prospective entry: Wikipedia:Inline citation. Best of luck! Isingness ( talk) 22:14, 23 August 2017 (UTC) reply
