Suspected sockpuppets

Thepharoah17 and Konli17 have been editing articles relating to politics of Kurds, Turks and Syria with a strong bias and battleground attitude (see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#@Konli17: with his disruptive editing reported on 2 July 2020 and all the messages on his user talk page). You can see them both editing articles such as Al-Malikiyah, Operations Claw-Eagle and Claw-Tiger, Afrin, Syria, People's Protection Units, Qamishli, YPG International, 2019 Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria, 2020 Balyun airstrikes, Operation Spring Shield, Syrian National Army, Syrian Democratic Forces, SDF insurgency in Northern Aleppo, Manbij, Battle of Raqqa (2017), Deir ez-Zor campaign (2017–2019), 2018 Syrian-Turkish border clashes, Afrin offensive (January–March 2018), Eastern Syria insurgency, Turkish involvement in the Syrian Civil War, Atarib, Battle of al-Bab, Syrian Democratic Forces military councils, Rojava and Ras al-Ayn You can notice that both user names are red and end with the number 17.

I also found similar names (red with a number at the end) that edit similar articles with the same attitude. These are:

Men2050: Can be seen just before Thepharoah17's edits on Jalamah (Syria), Shaykh al-Hadid, Kobanî, Kurdistan 24, Afrin Region Hajin, Afrin, Syria, Ras al-Ayn (along with Konli17 and Herengracht005 on this one), Rojava, Syrian Democratic Forces military councils and Tell Abyad (along with Konli17 on these last three). Here can be seen with Konli17 alone on Raqqa, Regions of Rojava, Movement for a Democratic Society and Syrian Democratic Council

Billz1936: Can be seen before Thepharoah17's edits on Afrin, Syria and People's Protection Units. Also can be seen before Konli17's edits on Şırnak clashes (2015–2016). Here, he is helping Konli17 remove negative text from the biography of Cemîl Bayik

Herengracht005: Can be seen after Thepharoah17's edits on Tell Tamer, Al-Muabbada, Al-Manajir, Qamishli (along with Konli17 on this one) and Ras al-Ayn (along with Konli17 and Men2050 on this last one)

DarthMaul15: Can be seen around Thepharoah17's edits in the history of the articles Operations Claw-Eagle and Claw-Tiger, Battle of Tripoli Airport and Libyan Civil War (2014–present) Here can be seen with Konli17 alone on Template:Campaignbox Turkish–Kurdish conflict. Tradedia, you've obviously spotted specific edits which made you suspicious. All I'm asking is that you cite which edits those are, so somebody can investigate them. Links to page histories isn't specific enough, because then somebody has to slog through all that. If you provide specific edits, i.e. "This edit (xxx) by Kolni17 is very similar to this other edit (yyy) by Men2050", then it's easy for an investigator to follow. I see this was filed 17 days ago and nobody's picked up on it yet. Probably because there's just not enough specific data to do anything with. -- RoySmith (talk) 11:04, 8 July 2020 (UTC) reply
@ RoySmith: I don't have specific edits. What was suspicious to me is that there has been a widespread POV pushing war on articles related to politics of Kurds, Turks and Syria and editor Konli17 gets noticed for severe edit warring then I notice another red user name that end with the number 17 (Thepharoah17) editing the same articles at the same time, so I suspected that they are related in a farm of socks that are editing these articles to help the cause of the Kurds... 1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this. -- RoySmith (talk) 13:06, 7 July 2020 (UTC) reply
