Suspected sockpuppets

CheddarB23 was recently blocked for repeated copyright violations, and a CCI was opened to check their contributions. While checking their CCI, I found user Tetovario adding copyrighted material into the same set of articles, sometimes from the same, offline sources.

  • The last edits Cheddar made, to Tetovo, were revdelled by Diannaa for containing copyrighted material from this site. Within 48 hours of their block, the Tetovario account made nearly the exact same edit.(I had an admin check for me) The Tetovario account had been dormant since 2019.
    • However, the Tetovario account only made 2 edits in 2019. Before that, their last edits were in the first half of 2014, the same time the CheddarB23 account was created)
  • [1] This edit from Tetovario added copyrighted material from "Albania in the Twentieth Century, A History: Volume III: Albania as Dictatorship and Democracy". When another user rewrote part of the material, CheddarB23 came along to add the material back.
  • Both cite the books.google.com.au site instead of the books.google.com site (See [2] vs [3])
  • Both accounts show a high interest in Albania, especially Albanian political figures from the early 19th century, and football players from the Balkans. Interaction summary here. Specifically, they both have extensively edited the KF Shkëndija page and Tetovo.

Neither account particularly uses edit summaries or talk pages, and both add in a large amount of copy and pasted material, making analysis of their writing style difficult.

Individually, perhaps all but the first set of diffs are fine. Taken together, however, we have two users using Australia's Google Books, adding copyrighted materials into the same two niches of articles, and specifically re-adding revdelled material after one account was blocked.
