Suspected sockpuppets

Albeit odd, I received a request to investigate some possibly non-credible BLP edits on Peter Romary. Upon investigation, it seems like there had an ongoing series of questionable edits by Rmchater and Coffeelover1979, which were pointed out at one point by User:Sam.Eagle.2012 on the article's talk page. Coffeelover responded to these allegations, but I think a more formal investigation is in order.

An SPA also questioned the editing pattern.

As an aside, I was informed that XPO Logistics and Bradley S Jacobs are/were both clients of QVerity (Romary is a partner in the firm). I have no way to substantiate these claims, but if this is true, Rmchater appears to be a connected editor (with a COI). C(u) w(t) C(c) 18:54, 31 December 2013 (UTC) reply

Hi - I'm rmchater. Coffeelover did contact me by email and request my help with this article. Coffeelover felt that the content did not reflect the sources and that SPAs were being used here - both User:John Linley who had added much of the content and Sam.Eagle.2012 who opposed all edits to the page. I agreed that the page needed editing. Later User:MarionWormer became involved, and I began to share Coffeelover's assessment of SPA involvement.

My specialty was heavy plant machinery and logistics, but Coffeelover has twice asked for help with BLPs - Tsai and Romary - due to my edits on the Jacobs page. One BLP (Tsai) was being challenged for notability (as the Jacobs page had been). In that case I added the page for Tsai Capital but avoided any engagement with the debate over the questions as to Tsai's personal notability. In this case I became involved in the editing of what appeared to be a CV, lacking a NPOV. I disengaged when the fight became personal, with yet another SPA User:Campersdream2 signing up to allege bad faith on the Peter Romary talk page. I have made all edits here in good faith, although in support of coffeelover1979.

I don't know anything about User:Dreddhk, who appears to be the original author of the Romary bio, other than the legal threats demanding evidence that our three accounts were linked User_talk:Dreddhk. These threats were made by User:SoCalTechlnv on Dreddhk's talk page. It is possible that dreddhk and coffeelover1979 are linked. I have no idea whether Romary & Jacobs/XPO are connected, and have no COI in regard of either. I feel that Romary's notability remains open to question, and that the sources do not back up the claims within this BLP, whereas Jacobs is at the helm of a $250m+ conglomerate, having built two multibillion-dollar enterprises previously.
