Suspected sockpuppets
Evidence submitted by Jasepl

Refer this ANI discussion from a few days ago.

  1. The user in question's first avatar - Rhp 26 - was blocked for gross incivility in September 2009.
  2. He returned under another name - Druid.raul - and was permanently blocked again in October 2009.
  3. I'm quite certain he's returned yet again, as Marcosino Pedros Sancheza.

He is feigning innocence - but one look at select articles, user page and way of writing will leave no doubt who it is. Can (should?) we do something? Druid.raul's user page was deleted (on his request), so I'm not sure if the history can be restored. However, there's too many things in common between Druid.raul and Marcosino (I'll use MPS for convenience). Both:

  • are Indian
  • are from Mumbai
  • are Hindu
  • are 21 years old
  • do not smoke
  • have apparently been editing for a long time though edit history shows otherwise
  • are short-sighted
  • are right-handed
  • are male
  • are heterosexual
  • use FireFox
  • and Facebook
  • speak English
  • and Hindi
  • and Oriya (a minor Indian language)
  • one decared he won't be editing Arab/Muslim related articles ever again (though he failed to live up to that declaration) and the other has proclaimed he's opposed to Islamism
  • and so on...

See also the edit histories for NACIL and Air India. User Marcosino made the exact same edits/reverts that the previously blocked users and IPs had been making.

It is the third sock of a banned user, and clearly violates most of the established criteria around inappropriate uses of sockpuppetry. Jasepl ( talk) 19:55, 15 October 2009 (UTC) reply

  • 16 Oct: User Marcosino cuntinues to make the same edits/reverts to NACIL and Air India as before, despite repeated claims of not having anything to do with past edits. Jasepl ( talk) 09:39, 16 October 2009 (UTC) reply
  • Why should i not edit the Air India page. It has 9 777-300ERs. Fine go ahead. Have it your way. I wont edit airline articles. I think i should stick only to Automobiles and Automotive Industry —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcosino Pedros Sancheza ( talkcontribs) 10:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC) reply

I just edited the Air India article for the first time. My area is Automobiles and Automotive Industry. What bunch of losers i have to face. Pity on them ( Marcosino Pedros Sancheza ( talk) 20:52, 15 October 2009 (UTC)) reply

User states via a userbox that he has been on Wikipedia for 3yrs, 2m, 18d (as of 15 Oct 2009). However, the account was only created on 7 October 2009. Mjroots ( talk) 19:55, 15 October 2009 (UTC) reply

Druid.raul was blocked on 6 October 2009. Mjroots ( talk) 19:57, 15 October 2009 (UTC) reply
Thats because i used to edit as IP 11x.xx.xx.xx . i only made an account this month. See stop accusing me of something i havent done. You're forcing me to act which i don't want to. ( Marcosino Pedros Sancheza ( talk) 20:39, 15 October 2009 (UTC)) reply
  • For someone who claims to have edited as IP 11x.xx.xx.xx and also claims to specialise in the Indian automobile industry articles, there are remarkably few edits to the related articles by such an IP. Of those few editors with a 11x.xx.xx.xx, none have a geolocate of Mumbai (where user Marcosino is located). Some are in Korea; others in various locations. I am completely confident that we are dealing with a sock of a (banned) sock of a (banned) user. Jasepl ( talk) 09:54, 16 October 2009 (UTC) reply
First of all i use Airtel wireless modem whose IP is 11x.xx.xx.xx. Please stop your bullshit ( Marcosino Pedros Sancheza ( talk) 10:29, 16 October 2009 (UTC)) reply
  • I previously blocked several IP socks of User:Druid.raul and consider it very likely that User:Marcosino Pedros Sancheza is another sock based on the user's edits. However, a CU will be useful, to both confirm this and to locate any other sock accounts that were created. Abecedare ( talk) 21:19, 15 October 2009 (UTC) reply
  • I have temporarily blocked this user for continued removal of procedural tags having been previously warned and then having said he's retired, has just gone on a redirect spree moving talk pages into article space etc, though has now been all restored. Khu kri 19:45, 16 October 2009 (UTC) reply
