This case might have more than one person but if there are, they are working together and we aren't getting truthful answers. Conflict of interest on the Otgonbayar Ershuu article and socking/meatpuppetry on that as well as other articles such as Rolf Lauter and the Museum für Moderne Kunst. See the previous COIN thread.

Zissuu reset the password for the account Otgo on Feb. 2 ( permalinked at checkuser wiki) and after seven years silent, Otgo woke up at Commons and de.wiki on that day. Also, see Zissuu's addition of same files here on en.wiki. Notice the Robert Mazarin account from above also made this edit.

R. Lauter went on a deletion spree at Commons with his own files. He had falsely claimed attribution on many of them. Then The Lauter uploaded some of the same files and lied about attribution. We aren't dealing with honest people. That 1967 photo of Margarete Lauter that The Lauter uploaded wasn't taken by him. It was taken by Hans Hartung and he knew it. Originally, it was uploaded by the R. Lauter account with that attribution and it was deleted here but still visible in Google's cache...same exact photo. Notice that The Lauter has used a screen shot as a source file...something is wrong with that as the source/photographer wouldn't need a screenshot.

  • @ Jameslwoodward and GreenMeansGo: As you can see above, you have reasons to scrutinize the uploads and contribs of these accounts at Commons. The dishonesty surrounding the Margarete Lauter photo is just one reason. The Lauter gave the following from this statement, "Concerning the facts: Several Wikipedia authors, who know my time as a curator in the museums that I run, asked me to provide photos of exhibitions that I curated at the Museum for Modern Art Frankfurt am Main in Wikipedia. One of my special projects was definitely the exhibition with works by Lucian Freud, as I - like most other exhibitions - realized them in close collaboration with the artist and no other curator in Germany was allowed to work with him." That would match with being Rolf Lauter as Lucien's article states that and it was added by PhilCult84 here.
  • Also from the same statement, "Every museum that exhibits works by an artist receives a permit from him in order to reproduce them and the exhibition without restriction. Lucian Freud personally sent his approval to me without any time restriction. He sent me this approval by hand. The photo is one of a series of many that I took with my camera. Since I myself did most of the tours in the very successful exhibition, this was understandably my wish."
  • For all of their talk about respecting "art scientists", the above statement looks like utter BS. We have a "curator" that misrepresents that he took a whole bunch of photos and then he hands out some statement that any museum can reproduce the artwork "without restriction". Eventually the photo would be cleared at OTRS but the painting was scrubbed from the background leaving a blank white canvas. The "curator" was wrong about being able to reproduce artistic works and that sends a big red flag. "Every museum that exhibits works by an artist receives a permit from him in order to reproduce them and the exhibition without restriction" citation needed
