• User:LewisChu is the oldest account and presents himself on User:LewisChu as a "London based Professor of Middle Eastern Studies".
• User:Stefan Sperl as his first edit creates his user page presenting himself as "Professor of Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies, Head of Department for the University of London, SOAS." A {{ cite web}} to a university page confirms a Stefan Sperl exists.
  • On 2017-12-25 he files a botched, non-transcluded AFD of The Sentinel (Staffordshire) currently located at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Sentinel (Staffordshire) (3rd nomination). It is the first nomination, and should be at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Sentinel (Staffordshire).
• Same day, 16:25: Mattythewhite !votes "keep" at AFD.
• At 18:45: Lugnuts !votes "keep" at AFD.
• At 21:38 User:LewisChu !votes "delete" at AFD.
• Less than an hour later at 22:25 the account User:DanielLSmail is created.
  • At 22:33 his first edit is to create his user page, a page that is very similar to Stefan Sperl's user page, claiming to be "Daniel Lord Smail, Head of the History department at Harvard University". A citation template, this time a {{ cite news}}, links to a university page that confirms such a person exists. Again, this looks a lot like User:Stefan Sperl's UP.
  • At 22:48 he !votes "delete" at AFD.
  • The account has currently no other edits.
• 22:53: Mattythewhite makes the observation: Looks to be some sockpuppetry going on here. Look at the similarity in comments of the nominator and the two editors !voting delete, and in their user pages.
• A few hours later on 2017-12-26 at 01:44 the account User:BenWilks is created.
  • Five minutes later at 01:49 he makes a comment at AFD.
  • Another five minutes later at 01:54 he creates his user page saying that he "... notice a lot of bickering among editors and contributors. Hope I can put a bit of calm back in to the situation. ... I’m not a professor ..."
  • The account has currently no other edits.
• Two days later on 2017-12-28, the account User:Saira Ibrahim 85 is created.
  • Her first edit 10 minutes later is to create her user page claiming to be a "Lecturer in sociology since 2006."
  • 2018-01-02: As their seventh edit, their first at an AFD discussion, and with no previous edits to The Sentinel (Staffordshire) they !vote "Merge" at AFD.
• Mattythewhite immediately comments at AFD and tags with {{ Spa}}.
• 2018-01-03: Necrothesp !votes "keep" at AFD.
• 2018-01-07 at 00:19 User:SamanthaFinmore is created.
  • Three minutes later as her first edit at 00:22 she removes the SPA tag placed behind User:Saira Ibrahim 85's merge !vote as well as Mattythewhite's last comment. It gets reverted by C.Fred.
  • Another three minutes later at 00:25 she creates her user page. Compare with user page of BenWilks.
  • At 00:27 on her talk page in response to the {{ uw-afd1}} delivered by C.Fred in re her first edit at the AFD, she writes "No comments were removed, nor templates or notices, only clear vandalism and personal bickering which was neither truthful nor relevant on Wikipedia. The entire reason I signed up is to remove such vandalism from articles."
  • At 00:31 she !votes "delete" at the AFD.
