Various IPV6 addresses (most recent one provided) editing articles about racing drivers and foreign language films, as per blocked user, geolocating to same areas of UK. Just putting this here due to [1] which may mean meatpuppetry rather than socking. Black Kite (talk) 19:17, 26 May 2017 (UTC) reply

@ Vanjagenije:, @ Black Kite: Extra info. The article Ye Yifei was created by Jvm21. There's only a dozen or so edits in total to this page, with a block of them coming from an IPV6 address (2a02:c7f:bc15:3100:c964:4e62:1963:ac8) a day or so after Jvm21's edits in Dec 2016. The most recent edit is by another IPV6 address (2a02:c7f:bc12:2300:a90a:6841:9bd:d81f), who is the listed in this case, and has the same geo-location as the previous IPV6 account.
Regarding films, Jvm21 made these edits on foreign-language films at the Berlin Film Festival a couple of months ago, adding in tables for awards and nominations: [2], [3], [4]. Under this address, they've been editing films at the Cannes Film Festival - [5], [6] and under another IPV6 address (2A02:C7F:BC12:2300:80DF:DF7A:3A22:D033), yesterday they were adding in the same awards tables on more Cannes related films: [7], [8], [9]. Again, that address geo-locates at the same place in England.
So this is one editor who works on Formula 4 motorsport and foreign language films. So do all the IP addresses. Let me know if you need anything else. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:59, 27 May 2017 (UTC) reply

  • @ Black Kite:  Additional information needed. In order to facilitate and expedite your request, please provide diffs to support your case. Please give two or more diffs meeting the following format:
  1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this. Vanjagenije (talk) 20:55, 26 May 2017 (UTC) reply

Jvm21 was blocked in May for 2 months and his IP range, above, blocked for 3 months in the previous investigation. Fresh off that block, the user edits from their main account and then jumps to the IP account to continue the same style of editing that lacks scrutiny and continues with disruption. The last three blocks of IP edits have the same pattern as before - edits to foreign language film articles and motor racing. I will also notify the previous closer for their thoughts/comments. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:09, 4 September 2017 (UTC) reply

Jvm21 was indef'd by User:Vanjagenije about 18 months ago for abusing multiple accounts, and prior to this, they had multiple blocks for creating non-notable articles about racing drivers. Along with racing drivers, they also create articles on foreign-language films. They've also been blocked on at least three occasions for block evasion, while editing as an IP, based in Oldham or Rochdale in England ( one, two, three). Ressbite has the same MO. Recent edits show that on 18th April, they created this biography on an Argentine racing driver, and about 1 hour later, this article on a Russian film. All their page creations seem to be in these two areas, the same two areas that Jvm21 edited, and the same pattern of editing in previous sock cases raised about this user. Extra comments for @ Bbb23:: The user recently created the article for Ayrton Simmons. It was previously created by JVM21 and deleted for notability concerns. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:21, 24 April 2019 (UTC) reply
