Suspected sockpuppets

Evidence submitted by GRBerry

Stephen Ewen has been requesting an inappropriate claim that the article Trinity United Church of Christ is based on a knol he initially published 24 July 2008. History of the article and the knol shows the article was largely written before that knol was published. In this diff [1] Stephen Ewen claims that he used other accounts to write our article. All of the accounts listed above except the Stephen Ewen account are blocked based on Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/CyberAnth and checkuser results reported there by Thatcher and Sam Korn. I read Stephen Ewen as actively affirming now that he is the same user, given the similarity of name with some of those blocked accounts and the significant presence of most of them in the April-May 2008 history of that article.

As far as I can tell, CyberAnth/Ewenss/etc. was blocked for a combination of sockpuppetry, edit warring using sockpuppets, and general disruptiveness. I am not certain that this is a current issue, but I also see no evidence that Stephen Ewen is editing honestly and in good faith or that this editor understands our standards. The research that went into expanding the TUCoC article was largely sound, but this editors partisan and disruptive behavior is a problem. Most of the accounts had individual blocks for their own behavior before the sockpuppetry was discovered. Absent some demonstration of reform, I don't think this is an editor we want active.

At the top of the prior RFCU page, this account was found to be stale so no conclusion could be drawn. As it is active again, it obviously isn't stale now, but the others probably are, and I consider the evidence too obvious to need a checkuser run, unless it is worth doing to see if there are other accounts currently active, which might be worthwhile. Is another suspected sock. This edits from an IP address where Ewen has claimed to work previously. This account has been involved with redirecting on the cyberanth page. Ewen reported previously that he bought anew computer at the time that some of the socking was going on, so the IP checks might not be correct from older material. here is a link linking the IP address too Ewen [2]. This user has been a constable at another wiki, and well understands the disruption that he has engaged on here. A permanent ban would be in order.-- Die4Dixie ( talk) 18:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Suspected sockpuppets

Previously established socks have edit-warred over Trinity United Church of Christ, and have claimed both authorship, copyright and the right for an attribution as blocked sock User:Stephen Ewen to be displayed on the article. See [ archive] for more detail.

The accounts (extensively) edit the following articles and/or corresponding talk pages (usually best seen by looking at their contribution pages) notably:

IP 68 hardly edits anything else, but only edited between 2014 and 2015, so is included for completeness, rather than any suggestion of blocking. Similarly IP 24 between 2012 and 2013.

Potentially useful for analysing the sock master, found while writing the above, but no point blocking. I believe, by their contributions, almost entirely to Bonny Hicks the following IPs are ducks but have not been used recently User:68.115.0.248, User:67.44.238.239, User:66.168.9.210, User:68.191.166.52, User:71.13.142.199, User:205.213.138.3.

Ditto Trinity United Church of Christ User:173.242.95.50, User:75.31.210.156 also edits Jeremiah Wright controversy.
