I got suspicious when investigating the connection between Leylapr2 and Mohammadghpr2 - based on their edits to Talk:Mohammad Ghorbanpour the connection was obvious, but I wanted to see if they had any more accounts so ran a CU. This led me to a clear connection with Chyah and a whole host of other socks. The ones I've listed here are all confirmed by CU investigation (same IP, same device), although there are a number of other accounts on these ranges which I haven't listed, as I cannot be certain they are connected. This is a complex case, because it's cross-Wiki.
Sharp-eyed editor Koopinator identified Battle of Turkmen Sahra as a possible WP:HOAX, and put it up for WP:AFD; where it was deleted. Koopinator subsequently identified Rasa Salim Tehrani as another possible hoax, and raised the issue at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Editor created hoax article and did not explain or defend it. That article has been WP:PRODded (by another editor) as a possible hoax. Both those articles were created by Amirhosein Izadi.
Rasa Salim Tehrani links to Mohammad Qoli Salim Tehrani, another article created by Amirhosein Izadi. I have serious doubts about its veracity: the citations look impossible to find, and the English article contains more information than its Persian equivalent. That Persian equivalent, fa:محمدقلی سلیم تهرانی, was created by fa:کاربر:Rafic.Mufid. Unfortunately, I haven't worked out how to decipher dates in Persian WP edit histories to establish the timeline. Rafic.Mufik has been WP:INDEFfed on Persian WP as a WP:SOCK. The sockmaster is known on Persian WP as Sonia Sevilla; main investigation fa:ویکیپدیا:درخواست بازرسی کاربر/Sonia Sevilla; known socks in category fa:رده:سوءاستفادهکنندگان از حسابهای کاربری زاپاس/Sonia Sevilla. The equivalent in English WP of that category is Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Chyah. This raises the question: is or is not Amirhosein Izadi a member of that sockfarm? (Around four, but not all, of the names in it are common to both languages.)
I know no Farsi at all, and am aware of Google Translate's deficiencies; but its translation of a line of classical Persian verse in the Persian article on MQST as "Oh by the sky's kiddie dolly wow we are all the time" strikes me as potentially problematic.
Counter-evidence, I have seen no sign in Amirhosein Izadi's activities of Chyah's obsession with Mohammad Ghorbanpour, so that WP:DUCK test fails.
Circumstantial evidence. (1) Amirhosein Izadi's User Page has a commendably professional look for an editor with just over a thousand edits. (2) Another contributor to the WP:ANI discussion raised the question of possible WP:COPYVIO issues in Amirhosein Izadi's edits.
I haven't notified the editor in question, because I don't know what the procedure is in these cases. Narky Blert ( talk) 22:18, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
