Bensebgli is systematically removing maintenance tags and proposed deletions of articles created by Hanshingling. Same technique of refbombing with poor sources, and with book references without page numbers. Uncle Spock ( talk) 04:26, 27 April 2023 (UTC) reply

  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - The amount of interaction with Hanshingling over Bensebgli's very short editing history is fairly damning [1], as are the similarities in the two accounts' edit summaries. I'm requesting CU because the Bensebgli account was actually created before Hanshingling was and it stands to reason that they could have more sleeper accounts up their sleeve or be part of one of the many existing caste-related sockfarms. Thanks, Spicy ( talk) 21:55, 26 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Responding to an ANI report I blocked Hanshingling on April 22 for disruptive editing in caste related articles (in particular, converting existing articles into redirects; creating multiple dubious "clan" articles"; not responding to warnings and comments; claiming to be an AI language model - at least some of their talk-page messages were clearly composed using LLMs).

Subsequently I blocked BonzonEllite as an obvious sock and today Doug Weller CU blocked Bensebgli, the oldest of the three accounts who had become re-active on many of the same articles.

Opening this pro-forma SPI to record these actions, to see if a CU check for other active/sleeper accounts can be run, or the accounts linked to a known LTA in the caste area. And in case future socks are created, as seems likely. Abecedare ( talk) 17:55, 27 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Account created a few days after the previous socks and the master ( User:Hanshingling, User:BonzonEllite and User:Bensebgli) were blocked. Twelve unrelated edits and then back to editing (the semi-protected) Hun clan article that was created and targeted by the two previous socks. And Oku Ali was soon creating other dubious "clan articles ( Maitrak, Pratihara clan, Kushan clan) like Hanshinglingdid did.

By the way, there are two other newly created, likely sock, accounts Khanjarref ( talk · contribs) wand Comboursa who are, in part, reverting Oku Ali's edits. Noting this here in case anyone has an idea of their sockmaster.

Pinging @ Doug Weller and Blablubbs: to see if a CU check can confirm sockpuppetry and look for sleepers. And pinging @ Re Packer&Tracker and LaundryPizza03: who have dealt with the previous socks, in case they have anything to add. Abecedare ( talk) Abecedare ( talk) 02:20, 8 May 2023 (UTC) reply

  •  In progress - Oku Ali is  Confirmed to this master - blocked and tagged. Khanjarref and Comboursa are  Confirmed to each other, doing a bit of digging to see if I can work out who they are. Girth Summit (blether) 10:03, 8 May 2023 (UTC) reply
  • OK, so as I said, Khanjarref and Comboursa are  Confirmed to one another. The are fairly  Likely to the blocked user Jisshu, and to the unblocked account MewatiKhan, but they're all jumping about a fairly wide range so some behavioural evaluation would be needed to justify a block. Girth Summit (blether) 10:18, 8 May 2023 (UTC) reply
Thanks Girth Summit. Looking the behavioral evidence, I am not seeing any overlaps between Jisshu and Khanjarref/Comboursa but there are indications that Khanjarref/Comboursa/MewatiKhan are socks of Thakor Sumant Sinhji Jhala instead (related SPI). And all the three accounts are definitely being used disruptively, so I plan to block them irrespective of whether their master is positively identified. Can you check, nevertheless? Abecedare ( talk) 21:23, 8 May 2023 (UTC) reply
Abecedare - they're not a great match for Thakor Sumant Sinhji Jhala. Same country, but that's about it. The closest technical match I can find is the Arya family LTA (see Aryashahnaughty), but it's not much of a behavioural match from a dip into their contribs. I'm afraid I don't know who this is (but I've got no problem with your blocks, given the confirmed socking). Girth Summit (blether) 10:54, 9 May 2023 (UTC) reply
Thanks for checking Girth Summit. I think we are done with what can be done here for now. So I'll tag the SPI for archiving. Abecedare ( talk) 15:44, 9 May 2023 (UTC) reply

  • Created a week or two after last CU confirmed sock was blocked by a check user.
  • Same target articles like Bhadanaka Kingdom, Bhadana clan, List of Gurjars et al with similar Gurjar pov pushing, almost similar edit summaries i.e. citations/added citations (more striking with Hashnling - another confirmed CU sock) - diff, see also Hashnling for better view of it diff (using same unreliable Javid Rahi as well), more diffs - diff,
  • I am requesting @ Girth Summit: to quickly ran a check (as a involved editor) and confirm these accounts association with these socks as behavioural evidences are compelling enough, WP:Duck.
  • Take a look at Bhadana clan also where they restored the additions of the previous socks which I reverted, albeit this time with caution. diff. Re Pa©ker&Tra©ker (♀) 01:07, 21 May 2023 (UTC) reply

  • Noting for the record that this sockfarm is almost surely the same as Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Johnbendenz and therefore operational since May 2022. No purpose served by merging the SPI reports but indicates that the affected articles may need longer term protection than a few weeks/months that I have been applying so far.
