A Request for Arbitration has been filed at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Catalonia involving Maurice27 ( talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), who has been blocked seven times for his recurrent and severe disruptive behavior, one of which included a permanent ban of which he was recently forgiven. Since the request for arbitration has been filed he calmed down. However, User Owdki seems to follow the same pattern of behavior which includes: (1) Making unrelated quotes from philosophers or writers (often through sarcasm) (2) accusing all the editors of the article of being "nationalistic minds" (3) resorting to ad hominem arguments and personal attacks instead of content arguments. [1]. (Please review the last section of Talk:Catalonia for a complete picture of his behavior. His behavior (Owdki's) was applauded by Maurice27. [2]
The possibility of using a sock puppet while no decision has been made by the arbitration committee is extremely disruptive. Since the request for arbitration has already included the request for checkuser of three user accounts (not Maurice27 himself) I believe this checkuser is also necessary and whatever information can be shed on this matter can be included as Evidence, whether it is to prove he has indeed changed his attitude or if he is resorting to using a sock puppet so that his account will not be permanently blocked again by the arbitration committee.

I have blocked Owdki indefinitely; the user is a disruptive sockpuppet, merely used to aggravate tensions in the ongoing arbitration case. Picaroon (t) 17:10, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Declined. Almost all of the checkusers are current or former arbcom members, and unless they defer this to the checkuser crowd, it should be handled by arbcom. --
