Please Essjay, you must understand that Iasson is among the most dangerous sockpuppeters I've ever met, because he deliberately leaves false sources, knowing that nobody will have time to call his lie. Anyways, I've found these: there a bit more recent: Karasar ( talk · contribs), that I blocked on September 17; and Abakos ( talk · contribs), that was almost certainly another sock of Iasson, and that made a few edits on November 19. There is no chance of finding earlier edits, because his level of activity in October and November was very low.-- Aldux 17:05, 15 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Please make a simple request, such as "I used to edit as Faaaa and would like to be unblocked because I was wrongly labeled a Iasson sock puppet." The argument from the publicly known IPs is not convincing because there are many reasons why Iasson could have edited from an Italian IP in May and a Greek IP in June (two being, he was on vacation; or he found an open proxy). The checkusers keep records not available to the general public. Thatcher131 (talk) 18:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC) reply

It is a question of the validity of a prior check on Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Iasson (this subpage), which confirms Iasson and Faethon as the same user, along with questioning the arbcom mention of the One user or several?. Beyond that, Faaaa claims to be Faethon [1] by stating the version of their userpage should be ver 70827952, the one where it says "I am Faethon, not Iasson." -- Kevin_b_er 15:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC) reply

The proofs against User:Faaaa are very heavy: consider that his two very first edits involved changing the tags on the user pages of 2 of Iasson's socks, making them socks of Faethon (name of a sock of Iasson), a typical obsession of Iasson's socks [2], [3]. He has also reverted one of the articles most attacked by Iasson's socks, Slavery in Ancient Greece. Also he has considerably edited Iasion, and Iasson's socks often edit articles with names near to those of past socks (or the original, in this case).

As for the second case, User:Taso Lagos, I'm not so certain; what made me suspicious were certain patterns that are similar to those of Iasson's socks 1) the brief span life (20 edits) - he introduced massive info and radically modified content, created 2 articles (Iasson's loves to create articles on obscure subjects) 2) habitual sloppiness 3) one of the articles Taso Lagos created Parallel Polis saw the partecipation of a very shortlived sock of Iasson, NoNames. There is a big misuderstanding here. We are Faethon, a public account operated by three or four friends. One of us knows Iasson personnaly, because he was his comrade in the same job. Iasson is another user, not related at all with public accounts. His password has always been secret. Actually Iasson left wikipedia a long long time ago and never come back. The point is that some stupid persons, for unknown reason, accused our public account of beeing Iasson, and as long as Iasson did something wrong and was banned indefinitely, they want to ban us too. This is tottaly unfair, so we are asking once again, to reconsider and stop this fallacy. Faethon and the rest series of our public accounts (created because some people banned us or changed our public password) are not punished yet [14], only Iasson is [ [15]. So either judge us separately , or leave us alone. This is serious, not fun. After all this years we are realy tired of this situation. thank you. KymeSnake2 20:57, 23 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Also, like Iasson, KymeSnake2 has his own ways of transliterating Greek. See the spelling of Pasion and Phormio here. [13] Septentrionalis 18:06, 23 June 2006 (UTC) reply

This IP is also with every probability a sock of Iasson. This is proved by the fact he also edited User:KymeSnake and edited this archived discussion on Faethon being a sock of Iasson.-- Aldux 15:53, 23 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Comment from passerby: Public accounts are only allowed by explicit permission of the higher-ups, if I remember correctly. - Corbin Be excellent 18:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Is this an Iasson sock?

KymeSnake edited Slavery in antiquity, using the same language and making the same claims, as Iasson. [16] As Macrakis remarks [17], this is exactly the same wording as the reverting anon on Douleia. Please confirm whether this is Iasson, who is banned. Septentrionalis 21:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC) reply

160.97.4.204 of Iasson

Three edits, two to the same article and PoV as Iasson's last sockpuppet, one changing a Suspected sockpuppet tag on one of his previous puppets. Septentrionalis 05:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC) reply
